Help Battery Power with Exchange Email

suvlady

Newbie
I've been a Triumph user for a few months now and my battery seemed to be lasting for a couple of days. I have just connected my Exchange email for my work and my battery doesn't even last a day now. I don't even have it checking email and I only have it syncing 1 day.

Any suggestions?

First, I would confirm that Exchange is causing the issue. Have you removed the account and checked to see if your battery life returned to normal?

No, I haven't tried that yet, but I guess I should. It's the only thing I've added lately, and the battery started draining faster immediately after I loaded it. I will give that a try though and see what happens.

Thanks!

Well, I tried removing the Exchange email and the battery seemed to last longer like before. Anyone have any other suggestions?

You might want to try a different email app that provides exchange support. Perhaps K9 mail or search in the market for others.

It's odd though that there haven't been other reports of this issue...

This is a classic problem. MailDroid was a PIG and I had to get rid of that. Enhanced Email is much better but a full day is still tough. (I get lots of email.)
There are probably some Exchange only clients that are better but I need one that can handle IMAP or POP accounts too otherwise I get my email coming at me through a bunch of different clients.

EE is based on the native client, so I'm hoping that ICS has a new client with better support and great battery life.
