Battery problems, quirks and issues: Read first.

Allow the battery to nearly die. When u get to 15% don't put it on the charger. You actually have a long time for the phone to be up and running at 15%. This is basically condtioning the battry. I still have the stock phone sans update and I've never had a problem with the battery dying quickly.

There seems to be conflicting sentiment in regards to whether battery conditioning is actually useful with this phone, no?

Well from personal experience, I've done it a few times with good results. I won't hurt the phone to try it for a few days. But track your battery results each day to be sure you're making progress. ;)

This is how I have solved having to plug my phone in during the day. I just charge the extra battery when needed either over night or in the middle of the day and still have a battery in my phone. I never have to find a charger for my phone as I now always have a fresh battery in waiting. It is the extra battery charger from the original instinct and it works great.

I can't believe that after all this time, people are still going through this same issue. It is a complete joke. My recommendation is if you have this problem or the airplane mode problem is to dump it. Samsung has been absolutely terrible on dealing with this phone. This coming from someone who has been through 4 Moments.

You just find a way to live with certain issues in order to enjoy others. I love my phone and I'm finding ways to make it work for me.

Living with such poor battery life is not possible for such a phone. It's not like it is a Nexus One that just came out.

In the phones defense I have not had the update yet and I have bluetooth on all day with a ton of apps and I am getting great battery life. Yesterday it went dead at 2pm after being on for 32 straight hours. I have a fresh battery waiting and I am able to let the battery full drain to dead before charging. I'm not saying I have poor battery life because since using 2 batteries the life of both have improved drastically. My point in posting the pics was to show that there are ways to make the phone work for you.

I think putting the phone on the charger every night will ruin the battery and shorten its life. The way I have it set up I only charge the battery after it has been fully drained each time.

Would you guys think that the MOMENT's battery drain is on par with other Android phones such as the DROID, NEXUS ONE, CLIQUE, HERO etc? Or is the Moment's battery life plain suck?

I've read that some or all issues with the battery have been solved in part or as a whole with the latest CL14 update. Is this true?

If I buy a Moment now would it have the latest updates for it to work? or would I need to do the update myself?

If I charge the phone the fist time, should I let it discharge completely before charging? or should I just charge it and keep on charging it as needed?

I would really love answers to these questions as I thinking of getting the moment on April when my contract with another carrier expires.

I'm not an expert, I can only relay my own experience. I got my Moment last week and it came with the update. However, my battery life sucks and I can't figure out why. I can't even make it through a day.

I just downloaded Screebl... It is a great application... Do a search in "market" and download it.. You will see an improvement within a few mins and hopefully at the end of your day you will still have battery life!:p

the spare charger from a blackjack II works great. i wish someone would make a battery charger like the instinct one so i could just carry that and the normal charging cord and be good to go, ya know?

With my G1 it took 3 days of powercycling and installing the right cooked ROM to get my battery to last a whole day with random heavy usage..(txting all day, randomly visiting the market to see new apps, making phone calls to my wife for more than a half hour at random times of the day.) Basically normal things with a "smartphone" but I cant even get it to last 4 hours if I visit the market once and make 2 phone calls

Ive read those over and over while I was trying the first time.. my problem is my phone doesnt get recgonized with Odin and I tried looking for the drivers but the install was unsucessful with both samsung pc studio new and 3
Im trying to get the right drivers then I should be good...anything you can reccomend as far as the drivers go?
