Help Battery problems

Hi all, I'm here because I cannot stand my battery life the way it is any longer. Every time I use the phone I can see the percentage drop almost every other minute. The s4 battery can't be that bad can it? I'm somewhat of a heavy user but I would think a phone such as this would be able to handle that. If I go to bed with it on my dresser at 100 percent, I will wake up with at least a 10% drain (without even touching the phone). I'm just looking for suggestions on what to do. Anyways, my phone is stock on nc5 and my carrier is Verizon. I understand there are other threads about battery life but I haven't really found another situation exactly like mine, so please refrain from the "there are thousands of threads about this" comments. I'm simply just looking for some answers/suggestions. I love Android and don't wish to go back to an iPhone, or any other phone for that matter unless I have to. However I'd much rather solve this problem and stay with my Samsung. I'll post my battery stats below.

I would guess you have an app running in the back ground. Also if you have the systems vice control apps turned on they'll drain power faster then normal.
Go to play store and down load a app that can track what's running.

Try 'GSam Battery Moniitor' - free in Play Store. It will show the areas causing battery drain, then click on the vacuum cleaner in lower left corner of apps home screen to drill down on the apps consuming power.

Good Luck.

What you're experiencing is "typical smarthphone battery drain". Any phone with a 5" high def screen is going to drain while you have the screen lit up. My standby time is outstanding on my S4. But it will drain with the screen active. The biggest battery drain problem I have is when I'm buried deep inside a large building with a weak signal, and my phone constantly fishes for a signal. And then, I just need to remember to switch to airplane mode or something.

The days of getting 3-5 days out of one charge, like we did with flip phones, are long gone.

Update: I believe I found the issue in that the location was on in my google account. Not sure how that happened but my battery seems better now that its off. Small sample size but in the last 2 hours my battery has only drained 2% with some usage. Ill give it a full charge tonight and see how tomorrow goes. Thanks again!
