Battery question

First of all, let me say that this is my first post. I've been waiting for issues to be resolved with the Galaxy Nexus and have decided I've waited long enough and will get a Rezound instead. I have had the thunderbolt since release, and have been one of the lucky ones that has had no problems with it, and after reading forums and reviews seems the Rezound will be my best choice. What I would like to know is, do the Rezound and Thunderbolt have interchangeable batteries? I have the extended battery for my Thunderbolt and I'm wondering if I can use that in the Rezound? If so, is it possible to get just the cover for the extended battery?

I believe they use different voltages, so probably not.

I don't think the batteries are interchangeable. Perhaps I'm wrong. You will love the Rezound though.. it's a great phone. Welcome to Android Forums.

I have two TBolt extended batteries that I use in my Rezound with no problems at all. For some reason, some Rezound owners have batteries that are 3.8 volt and others are 3.7 volt. I seriously doubt that there is any difference in the phones, so using the 3.7 volt TBolt batteries shouldn't be a problem.

My Rezound extended battery and two Tbolt extended batteries all have the same spec's and I haven't seen any difference in battery life and they all seem to run at the same temp.

It just depends on your comfort level, but mine interchange with no problem.

The only thing that some are seeing is there is an exclamation point (!) in the notification bar. IIRC there may also be an issue where it won't charge the battery while in the phone if the exclamation point is showing in the notification bar.

Now that you mention, it, I remember reading that also. I think it's an exclamation point inside a yellow triangle. I think in some of those cases it turned out that people were trying to use extended batteries with different spec's, like the one's from Seidio and some of the off brand batteries from Amazon and ebay. Some may have had that problem with the TBolt batteries, but I don't remember and I'm too tired to search for the posts at the moment.

I haven't had a problem with any error indicators in the status bar, or charging problems while using the Verizon TBolt extended batteries, but maybe I've been lucky. If any of those problems occur, I definitely wouldn't use them.

Thanks for all the input. I'm having a hard time finding just a case for the extended battery, so it looks like I'm going to have to get the battery along with it and just use my extended T-bolt battery for backup if and when I use it that heavily.

I went into Verizon and got both of my cases. One for standard and one for extended. They also have otterbox for standard or extended.

I got the one with the kickstand on the back. That's the only thing I miss about my TBolt. I didn't know they had an Otterbox for the extended battery. The standard Otterbox is huge, the one for the extended must be a monster.

Your right I am wrong. What brand is yours. I thought it was the otterbox that doubled for standard or extended battery. I didn't pay attention to any other than what I got. Otterbox was to big and seemed heavier than the phone itself. I also keep my phones in my shirt pocket.
Last night I also ordered the open back case for extended battery from htcpedia. Hoping the battery will run cooler.

I definitely like the kickstand case. I think that's what I'll miss most about the T-bolt, losing the kickstand. I should have clarified it was the battery cover that fits the extended battery that I was having difficulty finding without buying with a battery along with it though.

It's a Verizon/HTC. The box mine came in just says Shell/Holster Combo with Kickstand and fits standard and extended battery door. I keep boxes and other stuff way too long. I think it's available on Amazon for a lot less than I paid at Verizon. Of course, accessories are less expensive just about anyplace other than Verizon.

The case is rubberized and since I tether my laptop to my Rezound at work and it can get fairly warm if I'm streaming music or videos, (120-125). It may not make any difference, but I got bored and drilled 1/8" holes in the case along each side of the kickstand for ventilation. With the kickstand open, it also leaves space for some ventilation.
