Battery results: Moto vs. Anker

Battery Monitor Widget supports multiple batteries now, so using this, and after several charge/discharge cycles (down to 5%), it appears that the stock Moto Triumph battery and the Anker battery being sold around the 'net are identical.
The Anker claims 1500 mAh and the Moto 1380 mAh.
They both measured 1454 mAh with BMW... unless there is a bug in it... ;)

Not super important to me that the anker is 1500mAh or not. I do need a back up battery though. Thanks for your insight :)

There are other options to a back up battery, I use this:
Duracell | myGrid USB Charger
pros: 1800mah, works for other devices, no need to pull battery
cons: 500mah in/output

I considered the Kensington Universal Pocket Battery K38056US, for a while it was 12.99 shipped on ebay.
Kensington Pocket Battery for Smartphones Review - YouTube
pros: 1000mah in/output
cons: 1200mah

Me neither. I guess my point was that the off brand replacement battery had the same capacity as the motorola for half the price (maybe less). To me the biggest "con" for the other external solutions, is that you have to carry them with the USB charge port plugged in, which will eventually crack the port loose from the board. Sucks to disassemble and re-solder. I've had to do it several times to various phones and laptops.

Hmmm thanks for the tip, I've never thought about the cracking port but you're right, carrying both together forces the short cables to bend 180, gotta be careful. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to use the externals, but it's definitely not a pant pocket application :D

Lately I'm using the externals in short bursts ie if I lay me phone flat or in a backpack with a loosely tethered cable for like 15 minutes, every little bit of juice helps.
