Battery Savers

This is a discussion thread where you can tell what experiences you had with battery savers and ur reccomandations. I am using Batteryfu and batteryminder both from market dunno if they work yet.

The first thing I did with my Xperia, which I do with every phone I get, is to let the phone drain until it cannot be turned on, then put it on charge until it is 100% completely charged. Then wait for it to drain again....and I repeated it over and over for about a week. Works a treat :)

You use no battery saver and get a full day no problem?

Not necessarily no. I do have Advanced Task Killer Pro, but only because I don't like having apps running in the background. But I use my phone constantly all day to browse the internet, I have AGPS, WIFI and Bluetooth turned on at all times, and I come home at night with around 40% left but on days that I have been using my phone to browse ALL day, I come home with around 15% battery, which is still a good result :) All because I did that as I explained earlier

I learned the nifty little trick, from a man I used to know, he specialised in mobile phones and owned his own mobile phone repair shop, and we would always get together in his shop and talk about phones (I was only about 15 years old at the time :D). I would buy phones from school mates, and sell them to him for profit, and sometime help him repair phones. He told me that little battery trick, and it has worked with every single phone I have owned. It has made my Xperia last more than twice as long as it did when I first got it :)

All i have done with my X10i is reduce the screen brightness to 5% & forced the phone to use 2G instead of 3G. I get a solid 3 days at least before i need to charge the phone with moderate use.:)

I would like to know what you guys call moderate use...

On a rooted 1.6 I was lucky to get 10 hours of very light use and now on a rooted 2.1 using blue sparks rom I get around 14 hours of light usage.

I've tried loads of battery apps including all those mentioned above and all I found was my battery went down faster as the apps are constantly using battery to check and change things.

I found that turning everything off and running brightness at less than 50% was my only saving grace.

EDIT: I have been sat in a kids play park for 2 hours and I unplugged the phone 4 hours ago and have 55% battery left, no wifi no gps screen at 30%...

My experience is similar to powerkiters. If I get 10 hours with similar usage as him, that is a good day. If I put brightness to 20%, and place the phone in airplane mode, yeah I can get two days out of it.

I use juicedefender also and the screen at about 83% brightness. On moderate use I get about 14-16 hours. O heavy use i get about 10. NEver been able to get more than that with my data connection enabled.

how do i turn my phone on to do these things :( ive changed my battery, usb an even handed in for repair in the market twice and it works for about an hour, everyone is sayin its water damaged but whos phone isnt, its not like ive been singin in the rain with it grrr sooo how to i get it to work for airplane mode, less brightness and juicedefender.

Any suggestions would be great :)

Try an app called "spare parts" to be fair if you go through the phone options you will find all the above but spare parts gives you it all in one app.

Those apps are useless. I used app killers, juice defender etc. You feel better about it, but once I deleted that junk, my battery life was completely unchanged.

Se doesn't help the situation with its forced bloatware. Killers will get rid of moxier mail, timescale, media scape, facial recognition, etc, and all of these products are quite heavy usage.
I had atk installed and although it was good, I couldn't get up to the level where u wanted it. I'm genraly out of the house for 16 to 20 hours a day... my solution is easy...
charge overnight, car charger, work charger, spare battery in bag...
I didn't say it was a good solution. And in this day and age, its embarrassing...
