Hardly a, "Gordian Knot", of an answer to anyone who had read and comprehended the very first sentence, in the very first post, in large font, in red, in bold and underlined, not to mention the sentence that follows it.

Jelly Bean unrooted tip:-

The Google Now addition to Jelly Bean does use a lot of battery to maintain your current location for searches in Google Search.

If you do not use this feature, go to, "Google", in the app's drawer and open it, then...

Menu > Settings > Google Now > select Off.

Something else which uses a lot of battery on Jelly Bean is Smart Stay in Settings > Display

Do enable Power saving in Settings
