Given the different battery the LTEvo uses, you should be fine using the old standard battery saving methods. And as always, YMMV. The more you use it, the more it's going to drain.
-disable auto sync
-use auto-brightness or keep set to a relatively low display
-turn off features when you aren't using them (mobile network, gps, bluetooth, etc.)
Leaving everything set as is on an out of the box stock LTEvo, you should get 15+ hours with light-moderate usage. Do yourself a favor and search the forum to find out how to best tweak the usage to suit your needs, and what causes excessive drain.
We were all new to something once, and it's always constantly changing.
On our forums, there's no apologies necessary for questions, so you keep 'em coming!
From time to time, we'll redirect you to other threads, but that's so we can keep things all neat and together and easier for the next cat to find, that's nothing that you (or anyone else) is doing wrong or like that.
This is AndroidForums.com, that's your forums too, and it's all good.
PS - plus, sometimes you can save more with root tricks.
