ouch! no, def not. I'm getting around 23 hours on a charge with moderate-heavy use.
you might want to look into dl'ing a battery program (something like batteryleft) and check you run time on it... you might have a bad app not letting your phone sleep.
dropping 70% in 5 hours seems like way too much to me

Last night I was unplugged for 16 hours and had 50% left.
Display was on for about 1 hour 30 mins.

Doesn't sound right to me. I was doing my normal email & FB during the day. Then I played music for an hour and a half at the gym, battery didn't budge, still at 80%. After going home I talked on the phone for half an hour and then played angry birds for two hours, the battery had dropped to 50%.

That doesn't sound right to me either. Granted I have the extended battery but I must get at least 5-6 hours of screen on/browsing time.

have you let the phone die yet? The battery meter/percentage needs to be calibrated to your battery.
The phone will not let the cells reverse, so its perfectly safe to let the phone drop the battery to the point where the phone shuts itself off. This will calibrate the meter. I actually did it twice, made a huge difference in how the phone responds when the meter shows 50% and a huge difference in uptime per charge.

OP, what did this consist of, what were you doing? This will likely be the deciding factor on whether you have an issue or not.

Uplugged 6.5 hours and the phone still says 90%, which from my experience could mean anything. It will stay on 90% for hours before it hits 80% on some days.

I'd give it a shot. I do anytime I get a new phone then again when I see a drop in battery life.

Is your display brightness set to 100%? If so, you might try turning it down. I actually have mine set way down to 20% (but I have a dark background, so I can see everything fine). Download a brightness toggle and/or Ctrl Bright for when you need more light on the fly. Brightness management has helped increase my battery life a good deal. You don't necessarily have to go down to 20%, but anything helps.
Still, if you use the display a lot, it will drain the battery much more than playing music, etc (at least in my experience), especially if it's "constantly on."
You can also download a widget "Edit Screen Timeouts" for more refined display times. I have mine set for 1 minute, 20 seconds. I also manually turn off the display with another widget (Lock Screen -- same as pressing the power button lightly) rather than allowing the display to sit even for the 80 seconds when I know I won't be using it for a few mins. Not everyone would want to bother with that, but I've found every little bit helps in this regard.
