Have tried Juice Defender, it works but not a whole bunch of improvement.I think I might have a defective phone. I charge my phone overnight, take it to school, do not use it, by the time i get out, I check and have a yellow bar. Should I take it to a Cricket store?

My first Ascend was defective in the same way, my new one is much better when it comes down to the battery

So do you suggest I get a replacement? Did you get your replacement for free?

Yeah, they replaced it for free, but in the long run my phone was free regardless.

I suggest you go back and be firm, I am sure you can work something out with them, if they refuse, just be firm man, and tell them you've been a dedicated Cricket customer, and if they really get firm with you, threaten them to call the BBB since they sold you a defective phone. They will most likely give in then.

Will do.

You may also want to try this if you haven't already.Go to home, select menu, settings, about phone(bottom of page),battery usage. That may give you some answers. If you've left apps running recently,it'll show up here.
Also,if you long press on the app,it will take you back to app management, where you can clear the cache, force stop the app,(or un-install the app,if it is a user app,if desired).

My Ascend is only five days old and the battery without using the phone (on standby) will only last about four to five hours if that long. If I use the phone heavily the battery only last about two hours at maximum. :( I know smart phones use batteries up quickly but even the battery on my HTC Tilt and HTC 6356 under heavy use would last about five to six hours. I have heard you can change the clock time or speed of the processor to help with the battery, is this possible and how would I change the speed of the processor or do I need to take the phone back? How long does the battery last for everyone else under heavy use or standby use?

You need to be rooted. Search for overclock widget or setcpu in market
