Thanks for the reply! Interesting stuff on those pages. I guess I should have been more specific as to what all the settings are in the 'Phone Information' section of that dialed code? What do they do? What do they mean?

Preferred Network Type?
What is cyphering?
Enable QXDM SD log? What is this?
Turn off radio? What does this mean?
What is SMSC?
And what is a DNS check?

I was kind of wondering, with respect to the Network Type...

I've heard of people somehow setting their phones in roam-only mode. I'm with Verizon, and I don't get anything but a weak or intermittent signal at home, and almost no signal while I'm at work. Is there a way to improve signal type by changing the network type? I have a rooted Droid Eris, if that helps any.
