Root battery temp.

My admire was left in the car during the summer and in the sun when I got back to it, it said the temp off the cpu was 160 and it still worked like a champ

Mine usually goes no higher than 95 and that's when playing modern warfare. I used to over heat but that's because I had screwed something up in the build.prop.

I was hoping to use Rom Toolbox Pro and use a CPU Profile to turn down the CPU a lot when the battery overheats, but it looks like this

Battery Temp < X
then....

But no option for just "work as normal". There is no battery temp > x which would then turn down the CPU's automatically.

Anyone know of a way to put the phone into a automatic cool down mode if the battery reaches a certain temperature?

You could try a lower screen brightness and see if it runs cooler and possibly a new battery -just another standard LG battery might run cooler-I bought a spare for only
$15 - although not for that reason.

Maybe your battery is defective .

Thanks for the reply, but my phone isn't really running that hot.

What I was getting at is the app "Rom Toolbox" or "Rom Toolbox Pro" allows you to set profiles for your CPU. Each profile has a number from 0 (low) to 100(high) and they are executed in order of highest to lowest.

So you could set a 100 profile for "charging/full" and if your phone is in that state it will turn the CPU's to the max.

There is options for when the battery is UNDER a certain temp, but it's too bad there isn't an option for when the battery is OVER a certain temp. For example Battery_Temp > 90 then turn the CPU down to minimum and put on powersave.

Also I appreciate the advice.

I'm on my third motion. It would overheat just playing music. Metro was great about it, no hassle at all. I guess the guy could feel how hot the phone was. This one is running fine, so far.
