Help battery upgrade

2.2 was an update to the software. It's not anything to do with a battery. Unless I'm missing something in the question...

Old aftermarket batteries wont' work with 2.2 and above which requires the batteries to have a temp monitor.

I will chime in on this one. After market batteries will work (or at least mine do the last time I tried them), I have 3 of them, but your battery meter will not display any info on them. So, you have no clue what battery life your battery has left.

You also won't be able to charge them while in the phone......mine came with an external charger so its not that bad of an issue really.

The new after market batteries will work if they say 2.2 and above compatible. I have both the pre and post 2.2 batteries. The post 2.2 batteries work fine. The X will display the discharge number. However these batteries hold a charge about half as long as the oem. I've tried to use them but they just don't perform like oem.
