Help Battery Usage and Running Apps

kpucci

Newbie
I have a SGS2 running 2.3.3 (unrooted). After a reboot or even after closing all apps (via Task Manager) I see 2 apps that are using battery power (namely Angry Birds and engadget). Any thoughts?

You won't see and change in usage statistics until the next time you charge your phone. Those numbers represent the amount of power used since the last charge, not current consumption. I would guess endgaget is a widget that polls for news and Angry Birds ...

Once you charge your phone it should reset those statistics and if you don't play Angry birds, it won't show up on the list. BTW, killing running apps will only run your battery down faster.

Interesting response...thx. Why is there a refresh option in the menu then? How does killing running apps drain battery faster? is there an app that shows current batter consumption?

Because even in the short time since you opened the battery statistics, you've used power.

How does killing running apps drain battery faster?

Read the initial post of this thread. It will explain the futility of task killing with Android's current memory management model.
