Help Battery Usage Sprint vs Tmobile

So I own the m8 on Sprint and my girlfriend recently got the m8 on tmobile. I found the battery life on the phone to be exceptional, more then 24 hours of decent usage before I needed to charge my phone. My girlfriend however was complaining that her phone did not last even a full work day without needing a charge. I looked at the battery usage and everything is fairly similar between the phones except for Android System. While my phone is using 4-5% on the Android system on Sprint, my girlfriends phone on Tmobile is up around 75% battery usage from Android System on Tmobile.

How and why is this possible? Is there something different between the Tmobile and Sprint software that is causing this power drain?

Not sure if t mobile got the update or not, but one thing that could affect it is high performance mode. Basically slows down the phone by default. Also if she has a lot of accounts set to sync it will drain the battery more. She can try using power saver mode if all else fails.

My first question would be what was her previous phone, and how was the battery life on it. Usage habits play a bit role on a phone's battery life, and even the best phone can be drained in a few hours using the right combination of games/apps/streaming'constant wake/refresh cycles. Another big drain on battery life can be low cell signal which forces the phone's radio into a high power mode to maintain signal.

Please get back to us on these things she can even download some battery monitoring apps to track battery usage in a more detailed manor throughout the day. Here is a link for one of the apps called GSam: Gsam download

She is mainly just texting or using Facebook during the day. My question isn't really about how long her battery is lasting but more specifically about the Android System usage. Why does her tmobile phone use 65-75% of a charge on the Android System while mine on Sprint only uses 4-5% when every other task listed is comparable in its battery usage.

The only way to easily isolate the issue is to download a battery monitoring service as listed in post#3. This will help to identify the exact process or group of processes that are causing the issue.

I'm willing to bet she is on FB a ton. Probably on 3G all day long and quite possibly in a bad coverage area. How often does the FB need to use 3G, 4G, or WiFi? Especially if you stay logged into the app.

I'm currently at a flight school in Atlanta. When I'm at work in California my building does not have great reception until you Stephy outside. My battery is like night and day since I'm spending 8 hours in a building with great reception in Atlanta. You will see about a 1% an hour drain on the battery. In California at work it was like 2-3%. We've discussed this about a million times but your coverage area DOES matter. If your phone is roaming at work then you won't see the 1% an hour drain.
