Help Battery use, when my phone is at sleep

mbk112

Newbie
I need a good advice. I have the problem, that my phones (HTC Desire) battery is draining way to fast.

With wifi policy = never and allow to shift to mobile data, when no wifi is present, the phone is using about 2 % per hour at sleep (checking for mail every 5 min and sync on).

But then I am outside my home (and my wifi), then phone use up to 14 % per hour at sleep.

I have tried to turn off wifi and only use data connection (2g/3g). Outside home it uses about 2-3 % per hour, but at home is uses up to 10 % per hour.

Right now I have to remember to swift from wifi to mobil data every time I coming/leaving home. Any solution?

Regards
Michael

How strong of a signal do you have both for cellular and wifi data in all situations.

The wifi is always very strong (small apartment, close to router). I have only access to wifi at home.

The cellular signal at home is pretty weak. Outside home is pretty strong some places and pretty weak others.

Tried a new experiment. Put the phone on mobile data only and only GSM. In the start it look pretty good. About 1 % per hour at sleep. But in the middle of the night it suddenly went to 15 % per hour .

Any idea what happens?
