Help Battery went from 60% to 0 instantly

Why in the hell would it do that? First problem with my phone. I have not upgraded to 2.3.6 either. I rooted the phone when I got it. I used the zedomax root.

no idea. that happened to my phone to. it overheated for some reason.. but it hasn't happened since.

Probably its a newly installed or newly updated apps, uninstall one by one app then you can identify which cause this issue. And also go to "Setting>about phone> battery use" and check which app/ hardware/ setting eat battery.

Checked. Nothing is draining more than usual. It has not acted up today.

Do a deep cycle on your battery, leave the phone on until it literally shuts off because its out of power, and then put it on the charger and leave it on a couple hours past the point it says its 100%. Ideal situation is to leave it off and not use while charging, so overnight. Sometimes Lithium Ion batteries get kind of "lost" as to their charge and dont synch up with their status display correctly. Handicap of the battery, not neccesarily the phone.

Checked. Nothing is draining more than usual. It has not acted up today.

After fully charged, now step by step uninstall newly installed apps. Then you can detect battery drain app. After i installed "Battery defender" i also face similar issue. This is most identical that situation.

i noticed that sometimes when you take the battery out of the phone, the battery will drain. did you do that?

Did not remove the battery. It has not done it anymore. Weird if you ask me.
