battery widget way off...

I have the 3500mah battery for my hero it got down to about 10 percent so I switched to the stock battery and when I. Switched back to the 3500mah battery and my battery widget says its at 50 percent what the hell I mean I can understand the widget isn't perfect but wow that's a big margin to be off by so how do I know how much charge it really has? O and i used the htc widget

See you're in Philly, so assuming you have the Sprint Hero. Moved thread here so hopefully you'll get better help.

It is quite possible that it doesn't recognize The larger battery. Since it is an HTC widget it will probbibly only recognize their own size battery correctly. I might be wrong. Have you tried any of the other battery widgets?

whenever my battery widget acts up i toss it in the trash and reload it to my desktop. that tends to clear it up.

Battery widgets only guestimate capacity remaining based on voltage of a typical stock battery. With that said, if you put a battery w double the amount, the program (widget) will think there is only half the actual capacity

Thanks guys all your info is greatly appreciated but from what I understand there's no way to tell how much charge my battery actually has ? Cuz if so that sucks and annoys the hell out of me
