Help Battey Displays 100% until complete power-down cycle

The battery on my SGS2 will display 100% until I shut the phone down and turn it back on. From that point forward it performs accurately.

The only changes with the phone that I can think of is there was an update from ATT that loaded before this started.

Rebooting the phone is now a daily ritual as I have had the phone die on me after showing 100%. It did not show that it was really dead until after I plugged it in. Are there any better fixes?

I don't know about your problem but try downloading a battery widget from the market and see if the same thing happens with that.

The same thing happens with the widget as well. Both the top menu bar area and the widget display a full charge.

try deleting data in the CSC app.

the CSC app controls the information in the signal indicator in the top tray on your phone screen, and this may work. in my old captivate, i remember seeing a permission on a factory phone app which controlled battery statistics, and i spent 15 minutes on my sgs2 for you, and can't find it.

edit: i ran across a new stock system app named "status bar", and one of the items in its permissions is battery statistics. maybe try deleting the data in it.

if you are rooted, you may have accidentially deleted a needed system app. i did this before on my captivate, and it was a nightmare to fix it.

anyway, try clearing data in the CSC app.... it may not help, but i know of nothing else.. good luck. also try googling apps which control battery statistics. an idea: "samsung galaxy s 2 i-777 battery statistics app", "sgh-i777 battery statistics app", at&t.........., etc.

The used to happen to me occasionally a loooong (; time ago when I owned the mytouch 3g. It's almost like something conflicts with the system until it's restarted.
