I was wondering what kind of battery life people are getting from the new offical 2.3.6 update ? Rooted or not Rooted ?

So fare I am down 13% in just over 4 hours with moderate use

updated yesterday, today did 6 hours - 12%, now im 26% down after 13hours.

rooted.

1 day, 2.5 hours and it's only at 40%... the battery is amazing! I just recently took off auto-brightness so that could be another reason why...

So 12 hours of heavy use and I am at 28%. I watched a few Utube videos a lot of texting some phone calls and a lot of internet so not bad at all. Way better then when I was on 2.3.3.

Hi guys,

I wanted to ask if there is a big difference in the battery consumption with the new update, I'm currently using XXKG6, 2.3.4 rooted with under cloaked to 1GHZ and my battery stays for 24 h with playing games.

Should I update the firmware to XWKK2 - 2.3.6 ?! I have few questions, After I update it :

1) I will loose root, so I will need to re-root it?
2) Do I need to download a new kernel?

I already know how to root, flash and update kernels, but do I need to know anything additional about this specific one ?!

Thanks in advance.

i can only answer the first question: yes you will loose root, but if you already know how to root, then you know it takes 30 seconds to re-root, so don't worry about it...

I am not rooted and only going off of other I would say yes to root. As for battery mine has been very good but I am only coming from stock. I lasted over 12 hours of heavy use so pretty happy with that.

What does people think of Juice Defender ? I have it going on my phone but I dont know if it is helping or not. Before updating I had it going and saw no real effects. What do you have to set it to to see the big battery savings ?

i'm currently on stock. rooting perhaps later on, as of now i am happy as it can get all the jobs done and very satisfying battery life. juice defender, review says its great and all, but really depends on how you set your settings. other than that a lot on forums says it doesn't help for them.
