Accessories BB Mini USB cable used w DX?

All,
Droid newby here...been w BB for WAYYYY too long. and have a cable that is standard USB to mini (micro) usb that I use for car charging and data upload from PC...can I use this w the DX or do I have to buy another?

I'm using my Storm charger. Also, mini-USB and micro-USB are different. Some older BBs had mini-USB (i.e. my wife's Curve) and some had micro-USB (i.e. the Storm).
 
I went looking for a second micro cable today and couldn't fine one. The guy at Best Buy try to sell me a generic wall charger with a micro connector, but I thought I had read on here that our phones take a different amperage than the stock (as opposed to OEM) chargers use? The manufacturer was Rocketfish. I passed, but if it's determined to be compatible after all, then I may go back. Kinds spendy though at $21.

Why don't you order it online? I paid $7 shipped from Amazon for a car charger... the wall charger is about the same:

LOL! I just ordered two micro USB cables from Amazon for only a couple of bucks each. I'll just plug into my pc while I'm at work.
