Root BB V1.0 theme VS speed?

[tjreishus]

Is there a difference in performance with the themes offered in BB 1.0? I've read posts of Nextheme being incredibly fast. Is it any faster than the "completely stock by google" theme that is offered?

I do not think the speed of the ROM will be affected by either Smoked Glass or NexTheme. Both are optimized for BBv1.

Yea... all the themes that are on the op of the BB thread are optimized for BB v1 and let you have all of the speed it provides... However, if you go outside of those couple themes you will see a speed decrease

You can, however, make icon and other changes to the framework_res.apk and not sacrifice any speed, so long as you start from Pete's V1.0 optimized and zipaligned framework, make your changes, then use adb to push it back to your Droid, and finally zipalign it using adb and Pete's script. (That's what I did to mod the NexTheme from Pete's OP).
