Update to the iPlayer now allows streaming over 3g. Haven't tried it yet as I am not in 3g area due to crappy orange.

Do you share your signal with T-mobile? May help with the poor signal.

Yes I do. Since they have merged the signal has got worse, for me at least. I am lucky if I actually get a signal at home. My contract ends at the back end of April so I will be looking for a new provider.

Tried iPlayer using 3G yesterday and it didn't work. Still works under wi-Fi.

I've just downloaded the iPlayer app and can confirm it's working on a 3g connection. Are you going via the website?
