Root Beast 7.7 out - Live Wallpapers now!

ok...so I was using sholes 2.0.6 and wanted to try BB 7.7 out ... I did the update.zip and what not and now nothing that requires root seems to be working... just tried RootExplorer and it no longer works... apparently I don't have root access on my phone anymore despite it being rooted

I've had absolutely no issues so far with .7.7. For those of you with issues, you may want to try again in a few minutes when he uploads the version w/o jit.. it seems to be causing the majority of peoples issues over at the other site.

.7.8 uploading right now.
Change logs for both versions:

Version 0.7.8 (Benchmarks back to 150ms)
-Removed JIT (way to unstable but it was fun!)
-Edited build.prop to mirror the official 2.1 build.prop
-Fixed issues with signal (sorry it took so long)

Version 0.7.7 (
Benchmarks as low as 130ms!)
-Added Live Wallpapers
-Made some changes to build.prop
-Enabled JIT (May upload a version without JIT if it is unstable)
-Set the default clock speed to 600 MHz (for those having installation issues)

can anyone help me...if i flash 7.8 when it comes out...is there a way to put 2.1 launcher in BB rom? if so how? thanks in advance

Well, I'm on 7.7. So far no reboots or FCs. Running 1.2ghz and so far, it seems stable, but maybe seems a lil less reponsive. Weird.

I am definitely a little less resposive but it could be (i.e., is) because i'm running a live wallpaper at the moment..

I'm running .7.8 right now and everything seems to be stable and just as "snappy' as .7.6. Not much slowdown with live wallpapers either. Maybe a tiny lag when initially bringing up homescreens but nothing significant. I may be running a degree or two warmer but I've been doing quite a bit as well, certainly nothing to concern myself with.

Whats your battery temp? Pete said he is working on a CPU temp reader for this new kernel as well

O/c'd at 1100, I'm probably running around 94 at moderate load. I have a hard time getting over say 102 even under heavy load. Of course this is battery temp and not cpu temp but even when running taz' kernal, the two numbers never diverged more than a couple degrees..

Unfortunately, its against forum rules to post the link. But all droid forums are pretty much the same, so if you google the development of Motorola droid by pete ,you may be able to find what your looking for. :D

Correct.
If you google "alldroid beast 7.8" it should be the first hit or two. Just go to the first page of the thread.

Ok, I've had a fair amount of time to play w/ its working great. I'm finally running at 1.2ghz stably. Best bench so far was 144ms. Also, I've gotten pretty good battery use out of this too. 6 hours of steady music playing and just went down to 70%.

Oh, wouldn't ya know it. Right after that post, my Droid started going haywire w/ a constant cycle of rebooting. Don't know why it took so long for it to get screwy. Then today, same thing. How convenient that there's a 7.8 and a 7.9 to choose from.
