Help Beating a dead texting issue

Since the most recent update, (Froyo) 2.2.1, I've experienced many of the bugs everyone else has. Most I can live with, but the only one that frustrates me all day long is the text messages out of order. Sometimes the texts don't come in or go through at all, but when they do, they are almost ALWAYS out of order. I've tried using Handcent and Go SMS, plus I've used SMS Time Fix, but I get the same result no matter what. This isn't a between-network issue, because it happens with my family members who are on my own account. Will rooting my phone help this issue? I'm not very savvy about rooting, but am so willing to do my research to learn about it if this will fix this idiotic text issue.

Man I'd be frustrated too if that was happening to me!!!

I've never heard of that as a bug, but I will say that I'm glad that I rooted before Froyo was officially released!!

Personally I'm rooted, running Midnight 5.2 with Launcher Pro and using Handcent for text messages.

If you want to jump into a rom, I would highly recommend Midnight 5.2 which you can find here: Android Development

There's even videos towards the bottom of the screen to show you how to do it.

Thanks for the information. I'm wondering whether anyone else has had this issue and has solved it without rooting (before I attempt to research rooting and try it).
