I didn't find this posted anywhere else so I figured I would post my fimdings:
I am currently running Simply Stunning 5.0 with Launcher Pro+ and I found out that beautiful widgets was the cause of my long screen redraws. I began running into major problems while closing apps and returning to the home screen. It would take at least 3 seconds for all widgets and icons to appear. I was able to find a fix for this issue, hopefully this fix will be helpful for those if you having the same issue with Beautiful Widgets running other roms and lauchers.
How to fix:
Locate the Beautiful Wigets .apk on your sd card using Root Explorer. You will ned to copy and paste the apk in to System>App folder. Not sure if this step made a difference but I then installed Beautiful Widgets from System>App folder and rebooted the phone.
By making this small change my phone went from at least a 3 second lag to pretty much no lag when returning to the home screen. I hope this helps.
