Beautiful Widgets Theme????

I don't know how many of you have purchased Beautiful Widgets from the Android Market, but I was wondering if this can be used to run in the background like the HTC HD2. If you notice on the HTC the weather is something that is in the background and when it rains or is cloudy the droplets trickle down the screen or the clouds float across the screen. When you open up beautiful widget weather, it does the same thing. Is that something that can be incorporated onto the Moto Droid homescreen much like the live wallpapers, or do you need to have sense as a ui?

Just a thought.

The short answer is no. But if you want, you need to talk to the developer of BW to see if he can increase functionality. DROID forum won't help you on that front.

It isn't made to do that. It would require a lot of coding and would probably be easier to make it a live wallpaper. I imagine some dev is already working on it, if not you have a good idea, time to cash in on it.

That's part of the sense UI. But let me ask you ... and I mean no offense ... but do you really want to use up resources and processing speed so you can watch animated weather on your DROID 24/7? I just don't get it. But, we are allowed to be different. :)

Why yes....yes I do :D

You do until it slows down your phone to a crawl and eats up resources and you want to throw you phone at a brick wall wondering why you ever wanted to download something that did that to you and your phone in the first place! To take a quote from Morgan Freeman, in Bruce Almighty: "Since when have human beings known what they need..." We all know what we want, but that's intrinsically different than what we need.

I also dont need to drive an Audi...but I do. The need/want comeback could go on for days about shit on our phones or anything in life.

I WANT nice moving clouds and snow!

A4 3.0Q now and I did have a A6 4.2Q.

I like the A4, but my A6 was my fav. car I have ever owned. Plus girls enjoyed the rear heated seats. :p

I see your from MA..I am from RI but also work up in MA.

So does it use up resources and processing speed that much on the HD2? I have no experience with that phone or the sense UI, so I am interested. Also is the HD2 as powerful as the Droid?

I understand where you are coming from, but I hate that mentality. Can't it be improved, or can't it be done better without such a huge sacrifice?

It's my understanding that it's not possible to animate widgets while they're on the default homescreen. One can trigger animations, and BW does precisely this, but can not animate without the trigger.

Home++ and HTC sense permit animated on the homescreen itself.

It's rumored that Google will permit the public development of dynamic backgrounds in 2.1.

woohoo Rhode Island! :cool::cool:

And it would be cool to have this feature, but yes unnecessary. BW does a good job for when you clock on the weather, animations come up.

Is it possible for someone that backed it up to upload the files or whatever it is that they backed up to keep the HTC theme. Is that possible? or legal? :)
