Root Before installing a custom theme...

AndroidX2.2

Newbie
I believe I just deodexed my OTA 2.2 X successfully, is there any way to test this before I try to install a theme to make sure it was done right?

Also, what is the best way to make a backup image of my phone in case I need to recover?

Thanks

Are you rooted? If no do it then get Droidx bootstrap. Once you have that you can make a nandroid backups. These backups are a complete snapshot of the current system and you can use it to restore is something goes wrong.

Yes, I am rooted. I was just wondering if there was away to verify that I have successfully deodexed my phone before I tried to install a theme or rom.

I also have clockwork bootstrap recovery installed. Is nandroid an App?

What other steps should I take before installing a rom? And after I install a rom can install a theme?

Thanks

check "/system/app" if there are no .odex files you are completely deodexed. If you have even one .odex file it could mess something up if you theme, just redo the deodex process until you .odex free
