Beginners' Guide to Boost Galaxy S2 and Repository

i bought boost mobile galaxy s2 4g from best by right away it had wifi and browsed the internet while not being activated with boost .....few days later it shows whifi cnection but will not browse internet of go on to google market. so i reset factory on it then downloaded and set up the phone the way i like wifi and interner was working another 2 days later wifi is connected but when i try to go to internet its not working and google market is not working. i gueess my question how do i fix it and does boost some how after few days able to prevent you from using wifi browsing if you didnt activate the phone
 
You bought the phone and should be able to use it as a tablet/PDA without paying Boost a monthly charge, I have a Prevail I use without service.

Rooting > custom ROM will fix it, but I would check things again before rooting.

Kevin-out of curiosity, what are you repurposing your little old Prevail for these days? I walk past mine every day and think :/ "man, I need to fire that thing up and use it!"

One good use I thought of the other day was "iRemote" from the market which let's me control my HTPC to kick on iTunes and Internet radio without the need for screen interaction on the PC. Looks like a very nice app. Trying to find other uses. There's got to be a few Lifehacker articles on the topic. I hate to let it just collect dust!

I keep an extra backup of my contacts/calender/pictures and occasionally play a game or two. I don't use it that often but I like to keep it around.\

Can't say I have found a great use yet.
 
Hello my friend I have galaxy S3 for boost mobile already have framaroot apk and exynosabuse apk, but did not installed yet, do you think is safety any of those to root my phone? will some work ?
That could help many people what is not good with cpu stuff.

This is the only way currently. I have heard there is a one click root but it is not free. They've got it on XDA.

I removed the links as they are dead. Boost is forcing us to use their payment services and killing all 3rd party (cheaper) alternatives.
 
I have a rooted s2 korean i think .but when i try to select a contact to message it says invalid contact but if i tyoe the number it sends the message .any help ?

When you save a phone number as a contact name, or HOWEVER you would like to word it, make sure you save the number, with it's area code and all. .. Like a Macon Georgia number would be like; 478-123-4567 {I made this # up}. You probaly already knew this, if not, then you'll be the VERY FIRST PERSON I've ever HELPED! {hee, hee.}
