I picked up this Belkin leather case and BT keyboard over the weekend,

and bought the External Keyboard Helper Pro app to help with the switching between on-screen and external plus hide the on-screen when external is in use.
Everything works great, the case fits great, and I'm very pleased. One thing I want to change though. There is an e-mail button on the keyboard. When I press it, it launches Gmail. I don't use Gmail, but rather my own POP3 through the Email app. How do I make this button launch Email vs Gmail? Belkin was of no assistance.
On the tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1) I have verified that Email is set as default. I have used the External Keyboard Helper Pro app to allow me to modify some of the mapping .... mainly making "Alt-C" bring up the calendar, and for now "Alt-M" brings up Email. I installed a simple KeyTest.apk app so I could read the scancodes directly from the keyboard. When I press the mail button on the keyboard, no scancode shows up and Gmail launches.
I connected the keyboard to my Motorola Droid Bionic phone, and when I pressed the mail button, you guessed it ... Gmail came up.
Any advice? It seems silly that I can't map that button to do what I want it to do and if I have to keep the Alt-M workaround, so be it.
