Root Benefits to Rooting the Sidekick 4G

So what are the benefits and drawbacks of rooting the Sidekick 4G.

How much of the original software/OS be stripped?? (Still have Jump Shortcuts, etc.)

Will Tethering & Mobile Hot Spots be available without having to pay the $15/month extra fee??

Will this make custom themes & backgrounds available?

As far I know the drawbacks include the fact that there are practically zero custom roms available.

Wifi tethering is readily available without an extra $15 a month regardless. The feature is built into the phone just go to settings wireless networks scroll down to tethering and select mobile ap.

there for now are no benefits but the usual benefits are that you can get a different feel from the os faster/ stock android/ android updates faster/ root apps/ screen shot apps/ different kernels that allow overclocking the processor or getting a better connection to 4G towers/
