Root Best 2.2 ROM?

It's not just you, but bear in mind speed and UI smoothness are two different things. Due to lack of official HTC drivers and the like, our phones aren't 100% compatible with the animations in 2.2/2.3. So really, the phone is faster because of JIT, but it feels more sluggish.

Turning of the surface dithering option in CM settings seems to help a lot.

Surface Dithering was already off. I decided to go back to 2.1 and coincidentally VillainROM 13 was just released today, so I'm going to give that a whirl
