Best affordabel Battery or extended battery for GSM Nexus?

I just would like to have one as a back up but im not sure which one to pick or what would be a good choice. If anyone has one they like or know works well let me know! Thanks

I have had the genuine samsung extended battery for a while now and for me its been performing very well. I can get a day of heavy use, 2 days of average use and nearly 4 days of minimal use from it which is much better than i expected from only a 250mA raise in power. The cover it comes with is also a nice edition to the phone for me as it smooths out the lower back removing the ridge at the bottom and making it a little more comfortable to hold. I just use my original now as a backup but as yet havent actually needed to use it. I know for the money you do not get as much power as some of the others but aesthetically its so much nicer.

I got this:
1
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Trexcell-Samsung-Galaxy-Nexus-3800mAh-Extended-Battery-Cover-FOR-VERIZON-/280838395763?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item416345d773#ht_500wt_1413

Then bought the cover that would fit it.NFC works and phone lasts all day with everything on.

Please note that the OP asked for a battery for a GSM Nexus. This battery, being for the Verizon Nexus, will not work. Unfortunately, this is something you have to pay close attention to as the GSM battery is rectangular and the Verizon battery is square -- they are not compatible.

I bought this one for my GSM Nexus and it has worked well, including NFC. It legitimately has worked twice as long as the stock battery. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be available from Amazon anymore, though I paid $12.78, so it was a great deal.

Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of batteries on the market for the GSM (i9250) Nexus. It seems like you can order a Samsung battery (which seems like would be a good bet in terms of quality) from eBay, which are mostly from sellers in the UK, or you can order a no name battery and take your chances, though most of those batteries do not have NFC support.

Yea im thinking about an official extended battery but there kind of pricey :/

And thanks on the info of that other battery ill look into it. I wonder why there arent more i9250 batteries available? You would think there would be.

I'll sell you 3 extra batteries and an external charger for $15. They are not NFC compatible. PM me if interested.

Sadly, I ordered the GSM batteries but own a CDMA nexus.

if there the chinese ones i can get on ebay cheap ill pass thanks though

Where can you get the official GSM extended batteries?

There are some for sale on ebay, though they are largely coming from South Korea or other overseas locations. Search for "Galaxy Nexus i9250 battery" and look through the list for Samsung batteries.

Thanks.

I ended up ordering it from Expansys in the US. Although there is a 5-10 day wait to get it. I would imagine since they need to get them from overseas.

Cheers.

@Trooper, OP

I purchased the OEM extended battery from Expansys also. The 5-10 days turned into 3 weeks. They never responded to numerous emails. Finally the package came and it was genuine OEM. Good quality and the cover was very nice and fit perfectly. There is a very small hump but my Otterbox Commuter fits fine. Good product, bad service. YMMV.

Thanks for the information. If I had known I would have ordered this battery weeks ago, but I have had a lot going on in my family so getting this battery ordered was not top of my list.

Kinda stinks that it will take so long. I assume they did not charge your credit card till it shipped correct? I only ordered yesterday but so far they have not.

Thanks.

Looks like this battery is back in stock at Amazon, for those that are interested. As it is "Fulfilled by Amazon", if you have a Prime membership you get the free 2 day shipping.

I am unable to find the Expansys extended battery + cover for the Galaxy Nexus.

Can you please provide me the link where you ordered?

Hows the life & performance? Does it include the NFC antennae?
