Best aim for droid?

Anyone like Nimbuzz other than me?

I started using it today but I don't like that I can't see the chat 'rooms' on Skype, only the messages. So I get a stream of messages under each contact but they are really talking to each other and it is all disconnected. When I respond, it only goes to one contact in a separate chat, not to the Chat room. So that is a huge problem for me.

What other apps support Skype chat?

AIM on Google talk in the gmail window on a computer has an amazingly clean layout.

I know you can use Google talk to talk to other Google accounts, but is it possible to implement AIM into the mobile version of GTalk?

IMHO, AIM text service is the most reliable if you want to make sure you're receiving all of your texts, all day, without interruption. Granted, it's text forwarding, but it's honestly the most reliable option IMO. I've never lost or had any delays in service while using it... except for when I've forgotten to logout of Pidgin on the desktop. :-X I haven't tried all of the other services, but I use HiAIM. I like it so I decided to stick with it.

it's to bad that google talk on the Droid doesn't also use AIM accounts like it does when I'm logged into google talk on my laptop. That would be nice!

Iv basically stopped using aim, but I do use msn. I tried using HI MSN but it lagged horribly... even worse than typing on this forum. I gave up and switched to meebo. It does have disconnect problems so I'm pretty much waiting for that issue to get resolved. I won't even consider ebuddy because it requires you to set up an account to use it.

I find it absolutely amazing that there isn't a single high quality IM client out for the droid yet.

Been using eBuddy and have no issues with it. The only time I seem to get disconnected is when I take a phone call, which I think will happen to any client.

I've been having weird issues with Meebo where I IM somebody and it opens up two conversation windows, one where my buddy's name has uppercase and one where all letters are lowercase. I also had issues trying to use eBuddy where it was saying my AIM user name was invalid and wouldn't let me log in. Anybody know if this is a common issue with Droid 2.01?

Does anyone know if HI AIM is still available in the Droid market? I loved it but had to get a replacement phone. Now I can't find it :(

Old thread, sorry. Trillian is where it's at. $5.00 in the market for the mobile app, the "Astra" account syncs all your connections to the phone (just like on some others), and if you have the Pro version of Trillian 5 for the PC when it comes out your chat history syncs between the mobile device and the PC when you log in.

I'm a long time user of Trillian on the PC, I was getting frustrated with the last beta on Android, then I bought the release and it was MUCH improved. I was waiting for a package deal with the PC app but couldn't. They also have an iOS version ($5.00) and if you have a Mac Trillian is FREE in the Mac App Store.

Well, some of it does.
The IMs themselves have limits even trillian can't overcome.
Yahoo only allows for one open chat - it closes my pc connection when I go to the phone.
MSN is the only one to sync both ways and do it well.
I use ICQ/Yahoo/MSN on trillian.
