Root Best alternative Home Launcher For X8?

I m using AWD Launcher from the Market. ;)
I had tried TagHome also,but AWD seems faster.

Whats the best ie faster Home alternative for the X8?

ADW was the first I tried and have to say I love it so much that I haven't tried any of the others!
 
For now adw for me.. Later, when 2.1 is available, maybe ill be using launcher pro.
Tried dxtop but.still adw better..
 
Seems like there's not too many to choose from with only Android 1.6 running. I go with ADW myself. At least I cant find LauncherPro when searching the market. I'm suspecting this antique android version has something to do with it. Anyhow, I'm more than happy with ADW.

I find it very useful to combine the Apps Organizer app with AWD. That way I can organize all my used apps in folders placed on the quick-launch bar. No more need for a small forest of icons on home screens. :)
 
I really cannot believe how fast and responsive LIVEHome is!!! I think the word fast is an understatement for this home app...Just try it! Unbelievably fast and customizable...Plus I constantly now have more than 35MB Free RAM all the time!
Gotta get some sleep now...lol

Having tried most other things OpenHome is the one its worth every penny/cent :)

is there no way to disable the sony ui - on my lg optimus i can choose between the lg ui or the default android ui (although theres not that much differnce between both)

Also on my htc wildfire (by a complete fluke) i am able to switch between HTC sense UI and android default ui

Not entirely sure it answers your question but I use an app called Home Switcher that lets you flip between your launchers and set which one as default you want. I just find it easier than faffing around through the menu.
 
I haven't found it to negatively affect my battery usage. One thing that I read somewhere and have adhered to is to remove all widgets from your stock home screen when you decide you are definately going the way of ADW but that info was for the big X10 so not sure it is the same on the X8's, that said I did remove Beautiful widgets from the stock screen.
 
I got my X8 now and have been using a LG optimus, HTC tattoo, and wildfire for a while.

I ve installed adw launcher (which is great) but have some questions.

X8 is a bit low on widgets - Ive installed beautiful widgets for the weather but are there any full screen widgets for calendar or galloery?

Also is there a way to change the lockscreen to the default android lockscreen?
 
For calendar I use an app called Jorte, free from the market. I have it on my X10 and X8. It's not quite full screen but it is pretty nice looking!

ADW is fine for normal use.No battery draining,no problems.
My battery now lasts more than 30h straight without the Beautiful Home Weather/clock widget.Beautiful but annoyingly battery hog.Default digi clock is fine.

Launcher pro is smoother than adw...

i still like adw but it lags when changing screens :(

LP is really cool once you get used to it fast and very SMOOOOOOOOOOTH
