Root Best aosp Rom ?

As title suggests what aosp is the best atm ? Have decided to ditch sense at the moment as it doesn't offer many new features except for Facebook tagging in pictures that I use ( is there an app for that does anyone know) ?

Opinions please.........
Thanks

Haven't tried them myself
Looks like both ROMs have their large group of followers.
I've tried Oxygen and I had a good experience with it.

Today CM7.0.1 was released with huge amount of bug fixes, but there was a nasty mistake. They quickly recalled it and released v7.0.2.
The good thing is that the (almost) same ROM runs on several phone models (more than 20), which makes it easier to discuss the things even if you have different phones.

I've tried GingerVillain (from 0.8 through 2.1), CyanogenMod 7.0 for a few days, Oxygen 2.0.3 (about 2 days) and Redux 1.2 (non-themed version for 3 days now).

I prefer the latter as is take up a minimal amount of space, it's stable and fast. Actually, I haven't run into an unstable or slow ROM yet, these 4 are all great. It's about what your needs are and with the Android system you have so many choices, it's awesome. Personally, I just like the bare minimum look and feel of Redux.

GV is a really good ROM (used it for about 2 months) but so far I'm preferring Oxygen.

I didn't really use any of the CM stuff so the extra space in Oxygen is useful. Best ROM for battery life I've ever used too. Usually I have to think about what I'm doing throughout the day if I don't want to worry about my battery, but now I can do whatever and it's fine..

Haven't tried any other aosp ROMs.

If you're on the unthemed version, would ypu mind testing my redux theme please?

Its ported from the honeybread theme chooser apk. You can reflash the rom after to get rid, but just want to find as many errors as possible :)

I hope im down to my last issue, which is the unlock icon / slider alignment on teh lock screen. but you never know without testers if there is anything else.

I would be very appreciative :)

I have tried all of them.. I think Redux is the fastest, Looks stock with all the extras you need like cpu control and interface options like cyanogen. Works best with ADW Launcher or Launcher Pro.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Redux doesn't have CM interface options, like the customizable notification widgets bar?

You're both right and wrong.

It doesnt have CMparts, but it does have its own menu options for notification widgets, CPU and interface. Interface is just as limited as CM7 though (if not a bit more). Just pretty much does battery percentage.

Ive tried the new CM7.0.2.1 tonight and its alot better than the early release, alot faster and cleaner. looks good with the cyan theme. Id even say its as fast as ReDux now... Not sure about battery life yet but seems good. using the vork kernal

Ah, thanks for conforming that.
I used an earlier version of Redux before, but I couldn't remember about the notification widgets.

That is pretty much identical settings-wise to the CM counterpart. It would have probably been a deal breaker for me (not having it).

I'm not going back to GV for the time being. or in the forseen future. Not because Redux is hugely better than GV (because its not) but it is about as good in different ways and its tiny (even smaller once I get my hands on it) and allows me to do what I could not on GV

tried cm7,oxygen,GV and redux.

cm7 and gv are almost same as gv comes with cm7 parts and has inbuilt a2sd script
oxygen is good too, had good battery life compared to gv
now using redux 1.2 with cm7 hboot and manu 1.4. seems battery life is very good..but need to check atleast couple of days more

I find redux battery better than GV
+1

one Q regarding vdd levels, I changed them according to eviollets thread from adb shell. do they get changed after restart/new kernel/new version of the same rom.

how to flash them as a script from recovery?

You just need to create the script and put it in a flashable zip. I have one on my phone. I shall upload it to dropbox and give you a link. Just edit the script to your values.

Just downloaded redux based on this thread. I was having some problems the gv 2.1's stability, which is a shock!
What would be the best maximum cpu frequency to set to improve battery and not have an overly noticeable on performance?

madhatter1689 says the powersave option in settings>CPU doesnt cause noticable lag.

When i checked with set cpu it seemed to underclock to 729Mhz but cant guarantee that.

I just use setCPU anyway with my normal settings.

Great stuff! I'll give that a go. Thanks again as always!
