Best app for a 'To Do' list?

I downloaded and checked out

Astrid

Not bad. A lot of features, bells, and whistles.

I think gTasks is more simplified and more ideal that want to sync with Google Tasks online as well as sync'ing with Tasks in Gmail and Google-Calendar.

Astrid reminds me of

PingMe - What *Should* You Be Doing?

A service that pesters you to get things done.

Sorry rori I don't know, it's not something I use. I bascially just use the widget list as a reminder for things like MOTing the bike and insurance, I could use the stock calendar but the widget is on screen so to speak.

If anyone is looking for an alternative to Astrid, I've tried 'FlingTap Done' and 'Superlist' and theyre both pretty good.

+1 for Remember the Milk

Cracking little app (which I prefer on my Hero to online) that also integrates with Gmail and Gcal. Great at using tags, categories and locations.

I may be biased as the developer for it, but I do like cloudList.
It also syncs online with our website.

It's much more collaboration oriented since you can comment and vote on items as well.

Do any of these apps include a "to call" list, where a new item would prompt me for a phone number and dial when I click it? My old Sony Ericsson K800i from 2006 had that and I used it all the time.

Probably I'll pay for gtasks (now it costs $3) but a call list would convince me to get something else.

Again, I think the functionality is limited - Doogle's sub-todos are a must for example, can break down a task like 'write report' into bits, research, data etc and break those into bits into buy book, library etc etc Its nifty how you can swipe left and right to collapse and expand your tree of todos so it doesn't get crowded...

After much searching, I found a task list app called "Checklist" by Greenbeansoft that I just love! I tried a bunch of other applications first, but this one is the most useful to me. Basically it's a a checklist on crack. The thing I like the best about it is that you can create a hierarchy of tasks so you can list all of the mini tasks it takes to complete a larger one. You can sort your checklists by customizable categories, have some lists that are reoccurring (like grocery lists and things to do everyday before bed), and others that are time sensitive with alarms. You can choose whether you want to send tasks to your calendar or not, and you can email tasks and back them up as well. And there's widget support! There are not many downloads of this app yet, but it seems to be very stable and professional. Totally worth the $2.99 price tag! The interface was a little confusing at first, but I figured it out after playing with it for about an hour.

Does anyone know of a task app with scrooling widget capability?

Found it!

ToDo List Widget has the ability to scrool and check off items on the widget. It's a very straight and simple app. I've asked the dev if he could add some more features (ability to save the list and import lists from other apps)but it seems that he want to keep the app clean and simple.

If you are looking for a simple and user friendly task/to do app, look for "theTask" app in android market. It got quiet good features and very stable with reminders, snooze, folder management, backup to SD card etc..

Well I would say this but I think my task organisation app - Organisa Lite works well for a To Do List. Notes are organised into projects and you can have sub notes and add important dates as well. These can all be expanded and collapsed (minimised/maximised) in the neat and simple user interface. You can also import and export the workspace for sharing and backup purposes and update the android calendar with the dates entered at the touch of a button.

It is a paid app but I'm keen to get downloads rolling in so I've reduced the price and the more support and feedback, the more ability I have to improve the app or introduce new versions.
