Best app for tethering ipad?

The only official method of tethering is using the built in application where you also have to pay Verizon for use.

Other discussions are allowed up to a point. The rules around here don't allow detailed discussion on how to get around tethering........so tread carefully.

Use Foxfi it's fantastic.

tbqh the forum's rules about not discussing tethering are knee jerk nonsense. Tethering isn't illegal or wrong in any way shape or form. Whether you signed a contract agreeing to tether or not with your carrier is between you and your carrier. It's not the forum mod's place to assume you're using a given carrier that disallows it in the first place. Tons of power users mod Verizon phones for use on other carriers.

And more to the point it is not illegal to breach your contract, it's entirely a civil thing and it can not lead to anything greater than your service being terminated which is also none of the forum mods' business. Nobody can possibly get in any kind of trouble for helping you tether even if you signed a contract saying you won't. The forum mods saying not to discuss tethering or how to is so much rubbish.

Like it or not, it is their sandbox and they make and/or change the rules as they see fit. They also don't owe anyone an explanation.

One can always start their own site if they have an issue with restrictions here or elsewhere.
:D

No need to start your own forum dguy. :p The rules changed 2 months ago per the Administrator. Talk about it if you want.

I used to use apps, but I prefer using modified ROMs that include tethering OR using stock/modified ROMs and then flashing Dev's Tethering Zips with the proper framework and binaries that:

- Enable un-restricted native tethering (i.e. using Wifi tether from the ACTUAL mobile networks menu, not using an app).
- Removes Verizon tethering provisioning

This is my active native tethering screen shot on de-odexed 4.0.4 (IMM30B) stock ROM:

1 less app is always nice and using the actual wifi hotspot menu is even nicer.

What would you recommend for ROMs or tethering zips? (And where)

I like to be able to see if someone is trying to connect to my wifi- any good options out there?

Thanks!

Is there a Foxfi app for the ipad2? I can't find it in the app store....I have it on my android phone, and love it.

Thanks
