Best browser

I like the stock browser for most uses. If I plan on watching video (other than youtube) even with flash installed I use skyfire but only for video, I can't stand the facebook integration.

Since getting my Android phone in February I've been trying to determine, as well, which is the best browser to use.

After much experimenting I have concluded the following:

Stock browser - Used for following my News Widget feed links.
SkyFire - Seems kinda cool, but just too messy/clunky for my liking. Uninstalled after 1 week.
FireFox - Tried this due to the fact I use it on my PC. It was ok, preferred it over SkyFire - In the long run ended up not using it anymore.
Opera Mini - Tried this one as, in my opinion, these guys have been making mobile browsers longer than anyone else. And it shows in OM. This has become my browser of choice now. It's simple interface keeps the screen uncluttered but they have made the features still very easy to access. Happy with this one, really feels like it belongs on a phone.

Cheers,
Sombre.

Opera Mini for slow 3G connection.
Opera Mobile for Wifi and a strong 3G connection.
Stock browser has a slight advantage over Skyfire because it doesn't have the Social integration crap in it by default.
Firefox is still in beta; it shows too.

Stock: On my HTC Thunderbolt, this was my browser of choice - until I discovered xScope

Skyfire: I really enjoyed this browser, and the speed of it, but it just didn't really "work" for me (UI wise).

FireFox: I REALLY want to like this browser since I use Firefox on my desktop, and LOVE the integration of the two, but it is just WAY too slow and buggy to be made a default mobile browser.

Miren: Takes a while to open (unlike the stock browser), but other than that - I find it to be relatively responsive and fast. I really enjoy the layout and UI, and I have to say that this is fighting for the spot of my default browser.

Opera Mobile Web: I REALLY liked this browser, but it was BUGGY (for me, at least). Every once in a while, I would open it and it would be on some random website and would not let me navigate. I would clear the cache\cookies\etc. and it would work, but I didn't like having to do that every few hours.

Dolphin: My first browser (after the stock one), and I liked it until I realized what else was out there. The add-ons are nice, but the important ones come built-in to the other browsers. I also found this UI to be very "clunky" and ugly.

xScope Browser Pro: This has become my default. This browser is AMAZING! The interface is VERY sleek and clean, yet VERY functional. It is FAST (reportedly THE fastest browser on ANY mobile platform), and I really do love some of the nice "extras" that are built in (I live the way I can swipe across the screen, and it will go to the next\previous tab that I have opened).

How would I rank the browsers that I have tried?
1) xScope Browser Pro
2) Miren
3) Stock
4) Skyfire
5) FireFox
6) Opera Mobile Web
7) Dolphin

Guess I can make a quick mini-review of the browsers I have tried, aswell:

Stock: On my HTC Thunderbolt, this has been my browser of choice - so far (considering a switch back to Miren).
Skyfire: I really enjoyed this browser, and the speed of it, but it just didn't really "work" for me (UI wise).
FireFox: I REALLY want to like this browser - since I use Firefox on my desktop, and LOVE the integration of the two, but it is just WAY too slow and buggy to be made a default mobile browser.

EDIT:
Currently testing xScope Browser Pro

EDIT:EDIT:

xScope has become my default. This browser is AMAZING! The interface is VERY sleek and clean, yet VERY functional. It is FAST (reportedly THE fastest browser on ANY mobile platform), and looks VERY nice
.

I have determined that xScope Browser Pro, is the "best browser".

/thread.

Hmm, I've got to try that xScope.
Until then, my favorite is Opera Mobile 11 for its super-smooth scrolling/zooming and features/UI. Who needs Opera Mini, if Opera Mobile can go switch-off flash and switch on Turbo?
Miren comes for me second for its clean UI and fast browsing. Not so smooth as Opera though.
Dolphin HD/mini - nothing special here. Gestures are nice, but for the rest I'll pass.
Stock - always there, just in case.

I have tried stock, Opera Mini and Dolphin but have settled on XScope (at least for the time being) as it seems faster than the others.

Ok so ive narrowed it down to opera mini and XScope.. Don't know which one to go with yet though.

I am, im just undecided, both have pros and cons.:D
Keep both installed. I have Firefox installed even though I don't use it. Unless you're running out of disk space, there isn't any reason not to have multiple browsers installed. They don't run by themselves (unlike other apps). You actually have to launch them.

That soubnds like a good plan, thats what ill do. Thanks. :)

I was using stock browser on my droid incredible for over a yr, wanted to try something different to see if flash and video worked better. I tried Dolphin HD, like the bookmarks on the left side and some other nice features but ended up deleting it after a few days. It seems a bit slow and had too many options I just won't use.

So a few days ago I tried the Dolphin Mini, I think it's a bit faster than stock and it seems to load flash and video a tad faster than stock. The mini doesn't have alot of extras so that must be why it seems a bit faster. It has unlimited tabs but that is kinda annoying cause everytime you open a web page it opens a new tab, they is no way to stop the tabs from opening. I keep it on full screen so I can't see the tabs anyway but one time using my phone I must have had about 55 tabs open at the top, crazy. Will keep it while longer though.

For those interested, xScope Browser is on the Amazon Appstore for only $0.99 (limited time only?)
Amazon.com: xScope Browser for Web and File: Appstore for Android

It is $2.99 on the Android Market (yes, it is the same app - the dev even says in the description of the xScope Free Trial on the Android Market, that the full version is on sale in the Amazon Appstore)
I'd be willing to bet that it becomes one of the free app of the day choices on the Amazon App store in the near future.

And?

I paid $2.99 for the app, even though I saw it for sale on the Amazon Appstore.
This dev deserves more than what he's charging...

+ Is $0.99 STILL too much for you (maybe you were just making a point... in that case, I am referring to people who follow your point) to shell out for an AMAZING app? You're going to wait until Amazon stops giving out free apps, before you support the development of new\better applications?

I was just making a point. I pay for quality apps that I think are deserving of the money.

opera mini: tested loads of browsers. personally, opera mini is a fav.

one might argue that it lacks flash capabilities etc. but frankly, this sorta saves battery. and to be fair, most websites use flash simply for ads. one can surely do without that, its not as bad as it sounds.

opera mini speeds are incredible, really, incredible! by far the fastest browser, be it on 2G, 3G or WiFi. also the opera link thing is kinda cool. helped me transfer all my bookmarks when i switched from symbian to android. the killer thing though is the interface. the fast dial tabs, the sleekness of the menus etc. just adds to the entire experience.

opera mobile: slow. personally, if u need this browser, u are better off with the stock android one.

skyfire: great browser, superb features. but has a LOT going on. extremely cluttered. great for sharing links though. although now even opera has sharing options.

firefox: just not ready yet. needs time to mature into opera like perfection.

stock browser: great! when i really need the flash, or if i want web pages to be rendered like they would on a desktop, this is my choice.

I can't use xScope until it actually starts to remember my history. Right now, it uses the history from the stock browser, which apparently is a "feature" and is fine if you've been using the stock browser since day 1. But since I haven't used the stock browser, xScope won't remember websites for me. Big problem imo
