Best Buy appointment?

I preordered from best buy a few days ago, and was just noticing the blank appointment spot on the preorder paper they gave me. Is this appointment necessary or can I just show up Friday and pick it up?
 
they told me i could come in whenever...not even just friday...pretty much that i have one in my name waiting
 
Mine told me they would call me when they got them in.. I didn't get an appointment time.

I'm thinking about just going to Verizon instead.. they open earlier and I can be in and out faster.. and make it to work on time.. best buy's 10 am opening may be cutting it close depending on how efficient they are.
 
I was given an 8 a.m. appointment by the Verizon rep at the mall kiosk. I doubt seriously that the stores will do that for you. I'm getting the feeling that most people didn't consider the kiosk as a source.

I think i am doing the exact same. I just dont want to get to best buy and have to wait forever

Mine told me they'd call me and try to get an appt. set up for my convenience; presumably they'll call people in order and try to set up spots.
 
I also pre-ordered for pickup on Nov 6th. There is some concern out there that Best Buy may or may not have the Droid available on the 6th. I have read comments where people have said that Verizon employees took out Droids from the back and let them check out the box.

Had anyone confirmed or spoken with anyone at BB that claims that they have received the shipment of Motorola Droids and that they have them in the back?

I was in Best Buy today for something else and I stopped by and asked about pickup as my store is scheduling appointments for Saturday. I was told that they still did not have them in the building and would not until sometime on Friday after UPS dropped off the order. Also note that my Best Buy doesn't even have a demo unit out yet.

Oh...and when I was talking to the guy at Best Buy I asked how much full retail would be and he said that they still didn't know.

I think I will be heading over to the Verizon kiosk at 6:00am on Friday morning and if I strike out there I will just wait for Best Buy to get their act together on Friday or Saturday.

Not too long now!

my guess is....that guy didn't have a clue. i bet they have them friday mornin at open
 
yeah, there is no way they will have this huge thing with people pre-ordering and then not have them the day of at opening ...or i will be very very angry if i dont get it friday after already dropping $50 on it for the pre-order

Yeah, I was told that my Best Buy was getting them today. I'm going to try going in tomorrow and see if I can get lucky and get mine early. ;)

I doubt I'll be able too but maybe they'll have some cases I could test on the dummy phone to see if I like it or not.
 
i have a couple friends who work for best buy where i am and they have told me they already have them. they have been playing with the display model.
 
My BB (garden City NY) gave my appt when i pre-ordered on Oct 29 and gave me 11/6 at 10:30 ..so my butt will be there at 10a when they open ...
 
I just went in and asked about it and was told they are recieving their shipment on friday, but do not have a time yet. I played with the dummy phone but its keyboard didn't work so i couldn't get a feel for that. I will be calling all day friday until they get them thats for sure.
 
My Best Buy Store got them today and I saw the box as the manager put my pre-order paper on it. I will be there Friday morning at 10am to get mine.
 
My store got all 25 today before 2pm when I got there. Appointments are hard to do because some transactions take 10 mins, some can take 20-30 if the customer doesn't have the right info for porting a number, or if we need to port a number, or install an invisible shield (a full body is 15mins).
 
I went to my BB. Even though I was given an appointment, BB's policy is still first-come, first-served. If you preordered, there is a phone with your name on it and they cannot sell it. However, if they get less in than preorders, it is based on when the preorder was made. So, if you have an appointment, I would call your BB to see if they even know what they are talking about.
