That's a very good question. Some BB reps say it all depends on the store; some do, some don't. Some Verizon reps say that Best Buy represents Verizon when they sell phones with Verizon contracts and therefore must honor it. One of the Verizon reps to Best Buy also told me it depends on the store (that strikes me as a ridiculous business practice), but that Verizon Customer Service may credit your account if Best Buy does not, but no promises.

I say it depends on the competency, of the Best Buy sales rep taking your order. All Best Buy stores I've purchased from can check to see if you qualify for an update and have a discount coming. Maybe some newer guys weren't taught how to check for "new every 2" since that program is gone (unless you started your contract before they cancelled it).

Is there any reliable information whatsoever that some stores already have some TBs in stock. If you can share a reference that would be great. Jay, our friendly BB employee active in this thread was running stock checks all around the country at one point. Obviously they all came up empty.

Yea, I was here when he was doing that. No, I have no reliable information regarding whether or not any stores have it in stock. Just multiple reports from people here regarding stores and support reps claiming to have them in stores.
 
For those of you worried about the $249.99 - $299.99. The $249.99 is now on the Greeting when calling local BB Store Mission Viejo, CA (Store 101). NOT to mention its been added as an advertisement as of today for preorder and $249.99 price.

Its when you call the local store and their auto greating pics up once it says home of the geek squad guys voice comes on and does a little thing on the htc thunderbolt then goes to the options for the departments, call 'em use zip 92691 on Store Locator Store 101

Do you have any kind of documentation for that, I mean about the NE2 discount, not the update part? If there is a written policy anywhere, I would love to be able to quote this to the BB store reps/manager when this issue comes up. Thanks.

Maybe this is just the old man dad in me, but is anyone else here worried about Jay? I'm not even talking about from an update standpoint...I mean, he has been here like it was his job and to not hear from him makes me hope he's not in a ditch or something. Use your phone and message us an S.O.S. if you're in a ditch, Jay. :)

i remember reading several post back he works today. so he will probably be on in an hour or so
