Best Buy Details

hey jay,
i called a few (3-4) best buys today and all of them told me the same thing -- that they recieved notification today saying the release date of the tb was nothing of a surprise but got pushed back again to the projected day of the 28th.
 
Hey tech,

I literally got off the phone with my BB 10 seconds ago;

Me- "Hello, I have a pre-order for the HTC Thunderbolt. Have you heard when it will be in yet?"
Her- "The 24th." (No hesitation).
Me- "You're sure?"
Her- "Yep, the 24th." (No hesitation).


What does this tell you?


NO ONE KNOWS FOR SURE!

People need to relax.

QUESTION jay: i preordered my tb yesterday at bb with the free buyback program TILL the 26th... lets just say, for some ungodly reason, it gets pushed back to the 28th or later... will i still have that buyback program free or will i get screwed?

I doubt it, if it gets pushed past the 26th.
 
the reason i am posting this is; one store i called said their verizon rep was in store when they told me it had been delayed til the 28th

I emailed Best Buy customer service about this a few days ago. A woman called me who said that the program is based on date of purchase (not preorder) and that it would be at the store manager's discretion whether to waive the fee. Hopefully the program gets extended because the literature uses the iPhone and Thunderbolt to hype the program.

So you spell and use punctuation like the person who originally started the delayed until the 28th post, AND this is your first post, AND your typing the exact same thing as they did.... Sorry, not buying it.
 
Hi everyone,
I have been closely following the release to the Thunderbolt. I was the first person to preorder the phone at one of, if not, the largest Best Buys in Los Angeles. I just spoke to the Best Buy sales person that sold me the phone and he, like us, is anxiously awaiting the phone. He told me he has not gotten any emails saying the 28th and that they are being told that the 24th is the date. He also went on to say that if they get them sooner they can start selling them. Basically he is saying exactly what Jayishere has been saying the last few days.
 
I just called Dan Mead and he said the Thunderbolt will be out the 24th for most customers with the exception of anyone who posts on androidforums.com. People who post there will have to wait till July1 to buy it because he doesn't like "forum people".

This is all totally legit and confirmed.
 
my bad choice of words... one store said it was originally supposed to launch on the 24th and was just recently informed by their verizon rep this morning (who was in store) that it is being delayed til the 28th... jay, any confirmation on that?
 
Funny stuff, I have been told from "no later than the end of march" to "let me check to see if they are in yet". My last call to BB the manager was a bit tiffed that the person who took my preorder told me the 14th. He told me no sooner than the 24th...which leaves it pretty wide open. The verizon rep had no idea....bla, bla, bla..
Just like the incredible, all speculation until you have your grubby little mits on it. It will be there when it arrives and no sooner, I promise. In the mean time I will be flashing some GB roms on my droid to pass the time : )
