Best Buy Details

I can't remember if I asked this before or not, but would anyone know (jay?) what's the lag between items being checked into BB inventory and the time it takes for them to appear in the "Check Stores near me" search function on the BB website?

That system is awful, and is usually updated daily/every other day...They may say real time, it's not.

Dang it. I suspect the Mobile employees at my BB are lazy as hell and I won't be getting a call till 2 or 3 days after the phone gets in ... if ever.

The system off our website isn't the same as the one used in store though. It's in our in store system, depending on hows its delivered, within minutes to hours.

So what happened with this big announcement?

The announcement from Verizon was that they won the JD Powers award. The "Big News" from BGR was that BlackBerry Messenger will be available on iOS and Android.

To piggy back off another poster from earlier,

*Champagne Cork Pop*
*Whee...*
*Ugh...*

lol :)

On a side note, I am pretty sure the Best Buy price will be a solid $299. When you think about it, it's competitive with the iPhone 4 32GB and the Tbolt is 40GB out of the box.

They would do that. Someone needs to remind them how old the iPhone is. You can't compare that ancient technology with a cult following to the bolt.

Im going with $249 for the first week available, $299 after that. Its pretty clear that was Bb's intention before the delay. I cant see any reason why that would change now.

I have been anticipating this phone for months now and even I wont buy it at 299.99, 249.99 was pushing it. How do they expect people to buy a phone they have never heard of over the almighty iPhone if they have the same price and very similar specs on the box?

i called bb yesterday and asked about it and got the ole "we don't know" but i asked about the price since i was quoted @ $250 + buyback program and she took my name/number and called me back later and told me i'd still be able to buy it for the $250 but not the buyback program for free which is what i expected

The last time I was there, the price tag below the empty Bolt pedestal in my neighborhood Best Buy said $249 -- vaild from 2/24 through 3/6. So much for that! But I hope they stick with $249 for the opening week or some similar deal.

but i preordered at $250, so they're honoring that... at least thats what they told me.

My BB is doing the same honoring the 250 price since pre order. actually the local BB has it on the recording if you call them that they are selling it for $249.99 store 101

Hey all...

You know, while I continue waiting for my call from bb to pick up my preorder, I was thinking about a brief exchange in this thread between our moderators last night and feeling a bit appreciative. So, hope its not too cheesey, but here goes...

We would all agree that no one here has absolute truth when it comes to this t-bolt release, right? What we do have, however, isn't that bad imho. Sure it's "speculation," but it also is the shared experience and instincts of many capable androiders. What I've observed is that this forum seems to have a kindness, conscience, and self-control about it that I've come to value. And it appears to me that the more crude or crazier notions on the path to the t-bolt release have mainly come from unknowns outside of this forum. Sure we have our cranky "screen shot or it didn't happen" moments. I mean, let's be honest, how many of us are ready to hit that button on jay's wedding day? (Just messin' with ya pal). But, overall, even with our strengths (the ability to track bb inventory paperwork and offer it) and weaknesses (my admission that I'd trade my place in line for this phone for the phone number of the t-mo girl), the members on this forum seem to be a rather trustworthy bunch. :)

Bottom line...I think most members here are pretty sharp. When it comes to things like using the technology, waiting for launches, reporting on upgrades, they've been around the block. They've posted hundreds of helpful things. They've paid their dues. And some have done prison time - you know who you are. (Now that's funny, right?). :) At the end of the day, whether it's info. on how to find the t-bolt, or later on, how to fix the t-bolt...I bet most of us come right here first!

So, here's to the forum for having its heart in the right place. What a cool neighborhood to hang out in...gives me something to believe in when "coming soon" just doesn't quite do it!
