I've got a question for you, Jay. And forgive me if this has been answered -- I cant recall after reading all these damn pages.
So, I found out I have a $100 credit from VZW towards the purchase of any phone. Will BB honor that or just VZW? I have a pre-order at BB so if I can get the (alleged) $249.99 pre-order only price - $50 pre-order gift card - $100 credit and pay $100 bucks, that would be awesome.
Plus, I have another $50 BB gift card that I got for my bday. Potential $50 Thunderbolt?! WINNING!

Pretty sure you have to go thru Verizon for that credit.

You know, I try not to de a d!ck but this BB pre order brought out the worst in me. I've been given a 25.00 gift card from BB because they keep running this ad and don't have it in store, along with giving me an appointment date to pick it up. (2-14-11, talked to store manager, politely) Called BB consumer services and they opened two cases for me. One for the buy back (will send me a 70.00 GC after I purchase the phone, so I can purchase the Buy back program within 30 days) and one for the $249.99 price of the phone. (They will send me a 50.00 GC if the TB is 299.99 instead of 249.99) Now I don't care when the TB comes out and I feel that BB stepped up, to fix there errors.

I'm sure this is so. You'd probably need a pretty good case, eg, placing your preorder on Feb 6th or 7th and being told the phone would be available on the 14th.

Were you told that at the East Brunswick store? I may use that as leverage at my nearby store or mosey on over to East Brunswick, which is not so far from Princeton, where I work.

This uncertainty/speculation is probably just going to end up with me going through Verizon and returning my preorder.

It sounded like a great plan in my head! ha Maybe I can get BB to do it in light of all the BS & confusion over the phone's release. I mean, I've had this damn pre-order since 2/6. GRANTED I did so w/o an official release date, but still...

1) The preorder locked you me at 249.99 since I preordered before the price went u
2) I will get a giftcard for the price of the buyback program (detailed in my post from the 23rd) if it is not rung as free
3) The store will be able to use my $50 NE2 credit. The store most likely CAN NOT honor any courtesy credits some of you may have gotten from Verizon.
Again, take it for what it's worth but this is documented with a case# for me and Best Buy corporate will make good on points 1 to 3. Before anyone comments, I did not call for a handout; I called because I wanted some information so I could decide whether or not to attempt to return my preorder.

Hey Im a long Time follower here at androidforums and have been following the thunderbolt since it was announced at CES. I guess this is a crappy first post but i figured what the heck. I just called my 3 local Best Buys from Long Island. South Setauket, NY, Patchaugue, NY, and Bay Shore, NY. All 3 WITHOUT hesitation said the Thunderbolt will be released on the 24th. Not maybe or theres a possibility, but it will be released on the 24th. One guy (the South Setauket dude) even went as far to say the ad in the best buy circular was printed far in advance and to ignore it all together. I really was sure the 10th would be the day (mainly because im going to AC that weekend 
) but it really is weird that all 3 said the 24th w/o hesitation. This will definitely be my next phone as i sold my Samsung Fascinate on ebay for this (and im using my gf's crappy old blackberry curve 8530 in the meantime which sucks) and that was 3 weeks ago!!! /Vent lol

I called to vent because the mobile manager told me flat out no on the Buy Back and price change. I'll take whatever a manager or cosumer rep will give me.
Heard that before...
I called corporate like rocky s. and they got the manager of the store on the line who told me I would have buyback for free because I pre-ordered under the assumption that I would get it for free when I pre-ordered on the 7th.
