Best Buy Details

Well I got an Incredible last night, hopefully the TB comes in the next 30 days. If not I still have a pretty decent phone and it is a million times better than that damn Voyager.

yup thats why i gave up on BB and killed my pre order. last week, and will just get it from VZW, when it comes out, at their price, screw the buy back program, and all the crap of buy a phone now and exchange it later.
done with best buy and pre orders, regardless of who is at fault, VZW or BB. dont care, its left a bad taste in alot of peoples mouths.
 
I find it funny that we get more info from the CTO of Verizon than we do from their media centric hub on Twitter or their Facebook page. I really do not expect to get an email from VZW before they announce the release publicly. At this point it doesn't look like they care when it gets released. They seem content in riding the Apple waive for now.

Honestly I wouldn't be shocked to not get an email at all, even when it is announced. I only expect one when it is released.
 
Yeah he don't know crap compared to the guys on Twitter and that other forum that are doing a bad impersonation of Frank Gorshin doing The Riddler.

Its clear at this point. Phone is ready. Lte is ready.....in some markets. Techs were focused on beefing up 3g for the iPhone, and didn't have time to finish Lte in those areas. Teams are struggling to get it ready for the 17th. It apparently will come down to the wire. If it isn't finished, it will be delayed....again. fingers crossed they get the work done.

honestly I am not counting on the 17th, would be awesome if it does come out then, but I am guessing to keep it in line with their Q'1 release, it will come down to 24th or 31st. I hope i am wrong and the 17th is the date.
 
Why not release the phone with 3G only and activate the 4G with a OTA update when the system is ready? It would at least quell the bad press they are receiving.

im not sure i buy the 4g network isnt ready yet, bs, since they have been pumping and selling the usb modems, and i have one myself and it works fine.

theres something else at play here, smells like politics

You either are not being serious or have not seen the 4G component of all of the advertising. That would be a DISASTER for VZW.
 
Sweet phone collection Drew! I had one of those old Qualcomm "bricks" as well. Despite being a tech/gadget guy my "collection" is both gone and much smaller than yours.
 
Here is some good entertainment while we wait:
On facebook, there is this page that I highly don't recommend you follow for any serious information regarding the TB. It is called "RELEASE THE HTC THUNDERBOLT ON VERIZON ALREADY!!!" Anyways, there was a guy on there yesterday that made the following comment (I'm going to just put initials just to be nice even though it is on FB so he put himself out there anyways):

"ZG:
I went to best buy mobile and the manager talked me out of giving up on the thunderbolt because it was coming out on the 10th he even told me if it doesn't i can get the Iphone and he would throw in a free case so i believe its the 10th.

PT: He is just trying to sell you an iPhone.

Me: Prepare to get an iPhone tomorrow because it isn't happening brother...Just trying to make a sale on the iPhone.

ZG: he wasn't trying to sell me an iPhone because i went there and told them i wanted to buy it, why would they wait two days just to give me a case?"

I wish that I could find out which BB he is going to and when so I could go and see the disappointment on his face when they tell him they don't have it, lol. And then also to watch him buy his iCrap and walk out of the store with his free case...but it was such a great deal!
 
So EC .....about that honeybread update.....Lol. so yesterday was quite the rollercoaster ride. I was disappointed bt Melone's comments but hopefully optimistic with the news from our personal savior ben^5. I went from giving up on thus phone to excited in about 4 hours. I spoke with the best buy mobile rep down by our kiosk @ the mall swapping stories about how we have wayyyyyy more requests for this phone than the iphone. Makes me smile inside :D
