Best Buy Details

299$ That's the price officially printed in the weekly add. This Thunderbolt phone becomes not my dream phone but my nightmare....
No, Page 10 of the weekly ad currently on BestBuy.com shows $249.99 after savings.

The $299.99 price is in their March Mobile Buyers Guide. What scares me is that is where it also says "Available in New Jersey"...What does that mean??

This is COMPLETELY BB fault. As far as I am concerned, BB should have NEVER released ANY info.

Not advertise a phone that they have a retail exclusive of? Look, if VZW does not advertise the phone (as they did in spades with the i*hone), and they intend to drop it onto BB's doorstep on the day it becomes available, I don't blame BB for trying to get hopes up for folks to come in and buy the thing beforehand.

VZW has put BB in a bad position, where BB may have to make good on semi-promises. It's a big old bag of crap, and VZW is conveniently standing back, letting BB carry it alone.

Every Verizon store i spoke with as all stated 2/24/11 and that was just last 2 days, prior to that they had no information. Jay you have been great on here give info and i thank you. My local Best Buy is who i am pissed at and now to throw a ad in the local paper as if they have them today well and they don't----well same crap

I still stand on the fact that this is NOT BB phone and regardless we have no idea what communication is between VZW and BB. Until I know that, I can not blame VZW.

For all we know the head of BB MOBILE MARKETING is a fanboy like us and lets this crap through :D

I am teasing of course, at this point I would not be surprised if this is released as a NEXTEL/SPRINT DIRECT CONNECT PHONE.

To my face by at least 7 different employees

Yeah they told me the 14th also when I ordered. Then they said the 21st, and now the 26th ;)

I can't blame them too much, they can only know what information is given to them and they were just trying their best to answer my question by providing a date to the best of their knowledge.

They (BB) did burn me in 2009 though. My wife talked me into going to BB to look at iPhones since our Sprint plan ended the next month. She really liked it and convinced me to give it a shot. I told the rep we'd be back in a couple of weeks to sign up and he said you can do it now and port your number. He said I could just make my last month payment to finish the contract and cancel. So we did it and got smacked with a $400 early term fee from Sprint =(. I didn't think it sounded right, but he assured me that they also sell Sprint and knew the policies and it would be fine.

Oh good grief, I can see this posted on every 2nd rate blog/website. "Android Forums confirming Thunderbolt only available on Nextel/Sprint Direct Connect." LOL

I think it is fair to feel a little frustrated at this point. As has been mentioned, I think enough people were told Feb. 14 by BB when they preordered on Feb. 6 (including myself) to show that BB was given this as a release date. Didn't some BB employees here even verify Feb. 14 as an original street date in their systems? And I'm thinking that BB likewise does not generate a major national ad like we're seeing today just on a whim without some official idea they would have the phones to go along with it. I can't believe they are fond of crowds of customers demanding the goods to go along with what is being shown in the flyer. So, it does seem that shipments to BB are being sat on - for many rumored reasons...i*phone clearance...skype...4g handoff issues...a prank by Peter Chou...who knows?

But one thing for sure, it would be nice to be paid the courtesy of an official statement from the carrier vs. all their "coming soon" fanfare. Yes, you can say over and over that they never put anything out there but a "1st qtr." projection. But truth is they have allowed their "national exclusive" retailer to presale and post dates without product and without comment, and I'm sure again that BB didn't conjure all this up themselves.

So, what's the deal Verizon?

Isn't that the truth. 90% of these rumors are just a post from one forum or another. That's why I do getting myself all upset. Never been official word. An employee is never official word. They do not speak on behalf of the company. Yes they represent the company, but never speak on thier behalf.

Actually, this whole BB business may work in our favor. Maybe this is why some Verizon store employees - including some who have posted here - are telling us BB will have the phone a bit ahead of them (?). Maybe that's a sign of how remorseful big red is feeling right now for all the flack BB will be getting. ;)

Best Buy is great...come on now. It's not their fault they are stuck at the whim of Verizon

I don't think its either BB nor VZW fault. I really wish HTC ceo didn't announce "it will ship this week" not throwing the blame on them either. Things just happen. I believe there are way too many "rumors" on the internet. Not much can be done but just wait til the 24th and see if BB really gets it and wait til the 28th and see if VZW gets it. Apparently the phone exist so we just have to be patient and wait for the thundetbolt to strike bc its gonna gonna strike once. Lol

Here's a question: the Best Buy website allows you to put in your zip code and show store stock, albeit as a beta feature. I'm assuming this is somehow done by tying the store inventory system to the website. If you put your zip in there and keep hitting refresh while looking at the Verizon phones available in your store, wouldn't you know the minute the Thunderbolt appeared in your store's inventory system?

I have read every post..... Where most people get there info is from HERE or another android website. I switched to VZW last wk (no intention of getting TB) from T-Mobile (had G2). Wife wanted us to "save money" (t-Mobile bill ~132 a month, VZW non-smart phone plan ~105) Well I guess I cant go without smart phone and I decided to pre-order the TB (She had to ask manager if they were still taking PreOrders)! Well long story longer I asked when will it be released (not knowing about the delays and what nots) she said let me look..... Types into the computer system.... I stood up and looked at her screen..... I'll let everyone guess where she was looking.......

GOOGLE! WTF they know nothing and it is unfair to them/us!!

O well, I hope this phone doesn't suck!! Now I have been watching every video and reading every post!

Like I said half of this post is not important but.....
