Best Buy Details

black_man_x has been claiming March for a long time now. Personally, im still pulling for this Thursday as I am without a phone right now.
 
I think its going to get to a point, where people are going to say do hell with it. LOL. I just jumped ship to verizon and I got the iphone 4, I know I know. But I got the buy back for free and within 6 months I get 350 dollar credit towards another phone. Even if droid bionic comes out 4 months I can put the credit towards that. I no longer have a hard on for the thunderbolt, thanks to verizon, lol.

Plus Moto phones are usually have a 599 retail price max. So I only have to shell out 250 and dont even have to renew my contract. Isn't atrix retailed at 499? That is a damn good retail price for a phone with those specs.
 
If it is any time later than March 3rd, then I quit and am going to an iPhone. I have been borrowing friends' phones for the past two weeks since my precious Droid X was stolen and I can't just be sitting here waiting some mythical phone to one day come out according to the prophecy.

I dont know if you have been following this thread, but we are well beyond that point. We have had plenty of people go nuts and switch to ATT
 
OK, I had enough. I keep my fingers crossed that you will get your Thunderbolts as soon as possible. I decided today to pick up the Atrix after being without a smartphone for a month. I canceled my TB pre-order.

yeah, it was intended to be March even from the announcement at CES
Verizon tried to push it up to be an early launch, but ended up fixing bugs on the LTE handoff issue and now were hearing another issue with billing and provisioning?

BMX also said it was set to be a St Patricks day launch, whenever that is LOL (sorry i live under a rock when it comes to those other holidays...)
 
Again, I realize it's the whole "my buddy said something" or "I heard from this guy" buuuut....

I just got off the phone with the Best Buy Mobile manager that I preordered my phone from (I buy a lot of phones so we know each other pretty well by now). She told me she just got out of a meeting and that the release date through Best Buy Mobile is now Monday, February 28th. She said it isn't hitting the 24th because it would directly compete with the XOOM and they have been instructed by Verizon Wireless to give the XOOM the weekend for the launch. She stated Verizon "MAY" have it in their stores on the 28th, but it is scheduled "for sure" (obviously take that with a grain of salt) for sale Monday the 28th. I already set my appointment for 10:00 AM local time to pick it up. Hopefully this is good news?

I wonder if the image in this article tells us anything about the release date:

HTC Thunderbolt Skype video support slips | Android Community

The point of the article, of course, is to show that Best Buy has been alerted that Skype is not going to initially be available on the TBolt. But immediately beneath that information, the screen shot reveals that "the HTC thunderbolt (Verizon) and HTC inspire (AT&T) are now available..."

So it would seem (unless I misunderstand this) that Best Buy staff are already being trained on the TBolt, which would suggest a release date in the very near future. Does this sound right, or am I missing something obvious (very possible)?
 
if its not available by monday or by early march i quit. i dont care about the who 4g's or the power the thunderbolt has. i will get a iphone. doesnt make me no nevermind

I thought I saw that same pic a few days/week ago somewhere. Anyone have any insight?
 
So let's pretend that the 28th is the day. Does Verizon typically have it up on their website to order and have it delivered on the 28th, or would the order not be able to be placed until the 28th? And, since that is a Monday, would that be on their site either Friday or Saturday?

hahaha :) Let's hope not! I want this phone too. I'm a little peeved because if it does launch the 28th I'll be outside my 45 day Rewards Silver member exchange policy, but at least I exchanged the Droid X I had for the iPhone 4 so if it comes down to it I can get a good amount of $$$ on ebay and only be out a small amount for the Thunderbolt :) hehe

Did you ask if you could return at 45 days? I have the droid X and asked if the TB came out after my 30 days they said no, then I brought up that I have premier silver, mobile manger said that i don't get 45 with cell phones. WTF.

Yeah, normally you're not able to (it's in the clause of the program) but I spend "a lot" of money there, not to mention we always purchase prizes twice a year from the same Best Buy for our company party functions, etc. (last time was like over $25,000 bucks lol) sooo yeah - they cut me slack :)

Best Buy Kingsport does not know anything of the statement above. I hope it is correct (grain of salt)
