Greetings all! I'm new here and have been reading this thread with great interest as I'm upgrading from my LG Chocolate to the TB.
I'm not eligible for any upgrades / discounts from VZW yet so I'm thinking it would be better to buy at BB for the following reasons:
1) Price for phone is the same ($250)
2) BB's buy back plan would net me a min of $150 (20% of $750) back when I upgrade to my next phone
3) May be able to get the phone a few days early (if Feb 21 holds true @ BB)
Only major question I have is transferring data from my old phone. I have a rather extensive phone list, text messages, photos, etc... that I'd like to have ported over to the new TB. I've always had this done gratis at the VZW stores in the past - does BB offer the same service?
Thanks for any advice and props to Jay for all the info!
I do believe that if you're not eligible for an upgrade at VZW that you're going to have to pay retail for the phone (at either BB or VZW) and that is in the $650-$750 range.
Jay, can you clairfy what the ad means when it says "After Savings"?
Is that on onsite or mail in rebate of some type..?
Or does after savings mean simply you need to sign the 2 year contract?
I would think if it meant that...it would clearly state with approved contract or something like that.
Please clarify....and thanks for your help!
Ninjas are crazy for signing a 2 year contract on this phone... I mean, look at the lineup for the end of this year and early next year... mind.blown.

Aren't you getting the phone for $404.25?So the buyback is whatever percent of what you actually paid.... is that not correct?

Is $250 the employee price without a contract or are you saying you are getting it on contract... and if you get it on contract does that mean that when you sell it back in a year for 40% that you will then have to buy a new phone at retail because your VZW account will not have an upgrade available?
I wish I knew an employee in the Cincinnati area that could hook me up with the $400 price tag... sigh.

Jay-
Your information has been invaluable. Thank you for all of your updates. One question though:
I understand your "in-store" date is 2/21 with (still up in the air and still speculative) a release date from 2/21-2/24. But if this ad is correct (no reason to belive otherwise) aren't there going to be some people who show up Sunday afternoon to get one and be pissed when they are told they aren't even in stock yet?
Geez. How many people are from Cincinnati on these boards?
