You know, even when I had a BlackBerry, the thought to switch to the iPhone never crossed my mind. I liked being able to upgrade my phone whenever I wanted, customize it however I wanted. Even playing with an iPhone and seeing the speed difference didn't sway me at all. It's like if you have an iPhone, they own you.

I had LG Dare, Pearl, Curve, Curve2, Storm, Moto Droid, and finally my Current Incredible. Once Verizon get the TB out, Apple will have to step up their game plain and simple. I like the freedom of installing anything I like, and uninstalling what I don't. I also like knowing that if my battery dies, I can simply buy another and don't have to send it back or take it in for repair. UGH
 
I think if I had pre-ordered and been given a date by BB at that time, I would be angry. But I didn't, so I see it from the flip side. BB must have been given a date in order to start taking pre-orders. They can't make HTC or VZW push the phones out any faster.

Exactly. Don't get me wrong, I'm mad about it, but I put money down on a phone never knowing the "official" release date. I don't really have anyone to blame but myself. It was never officially announced, just speculated dates from here to New Years 2015. lol Sure, I hoped it would come in sooner rather then later, but it's hasn't and I was prepared for that when I forked over my $50.

Yeah I know. As soon as I read that I knew the guy was an arrogant jackass and was just messing with him. But he fell for it hook, line and sinker. Then he posted it here and they all probably had a good laugh. I kind of felt badly for him for a second but he'll get over it. (edit: Just so he knows I'm not criticizing him, since I might have done the same thing) I wonder if he went back and called him out?
Oh well, my BB guy just said to me, "sorry dude, it's been delayed.. no new date set yet." That was yesterday and I just went back to my CM7 nightly thread. I think if I still was using the Eris I'd be more anxious like when I was waiting for the DI, but the DI rocks and this TB will just be icing on the android cake. So I can wait and follow along here. It's kind of fun between games of Angry birds. It so reminds me of the Incredible threads way back when.
 
Some asian guy came into my store last night and I talked to him about the TB being delayed, and he wanted to cancel his preorder...I was so hoping he was from the forums, lol
 
I wasn't sure if I was gonna pre-order but I needed a new Bluetooth headset so I decided to combine the headset purchase with the pre-order. I had them use that $50 gift card along with a 10% off coupon on a Jawbone ERA headset. I've still got my place in the pre-order queue and have a great new headset at a discount. Am I happy that I don't have the phone? No but, in the end, it didn't cost me an additional dime over what I'd already planned to spend.

I'm okay with the "delay" and holding onto my preorder as long as the free buyback is honored. If there were an announcement confirming this, I'd be happy. I don't blame anyone for the "delay," I'd just hate to miss out on such a good promotion.
 
I would hope they would honor the buy back for pre-orders, but I guess they wouldn't have to since it was a promotion from X date to X date, and with pre-ordering without a release date on the phone.

I don't know - I think that promotion and the whole buy-back program is a rip off. Most phones will fetch more money on e-bay or craigslist. The reason BB buys these things back is because they can sell them for more money somewhere else. Its just like the trade in value for cars, except selling a phone is a LOT easier than selling a car.

Back on topic. After reading the post above, you are now that much closer to recieving your t-bolt. You're welcome. :D

If it says no rain checks, we may be out of luck.


Just remember, if you plan on buying black tie protection for your phone, and you're forced to pay for buy back, you get buy back at half price...not TOO bad of a consolation prize.
 
not after 14 days, and if you do you'd be on the hook for the other half of the buy back unless you cancel it too.


Edit: Unless you get the $9.99 monthly black tie. The above is only for the two year ADH black tie.

I plan on getting the insurance from Verizon because they cover loss/theft. I've never lost or stolen a phone but I like to know I'm covered. As far as the post that the buyback is a ripoff, if all else is equal (buying from VZW or BB), I'll take a free promo.
