Best Buy Details

I checked with my insurance guy and mine's covered under my existing homeowner's policy for full replacement value for loss, damage, theft, etc. $250 deductible and, if it's under $1,000, claims won't affect my premiums. Of course, I wouldn't want to turn in a claim every year.
This is a state by state thing as well as carrier policy. That does not hold for me, I checked with my insurance company. Besides, my deductible is $500 and not $250 so even if I did make a claim it wouldn't help my bottom line.

I have mine on my homeowners policy. It's an add-on. My rep said this separate policy is for things that go out of the home, like laptops, cell phones, etc. Mine cost $36 a year with a $100 deductible and covers anything except software & manufacturer issues. If it is lost, stolen, destroyed, or dropped, I pay $100 and get a check for $600 (what I covered it for).

If it says no rain checks, we may be out of luck.

Just remember, if you plan on buying black tie protection for your phone, and you're forced to pay for buy back, you get buy back at half price...not TOO bad of a consolation prize.

When I paid for my pre-order on 2/6/11 they gave me the buy back right then for free. It's listed on my receipt.

I enjoy best buy's no deductable...that's just me

Yeah my gf got her D2 at BB and went with their program, auto deducts from her BB card at like $9.99/month(?). For her, the possiblity of a loaner phone and no deductable was key. Knock on wood, I don't see her loosing the phone, so seems like a decent deal.

I've got a floater policy with my phone listed at $500. The cost is about $25 a year and I have no deductible. My cost is so low because I also have jewelry and a couple watches on the policy that increase the overall limit and thus decrease the rate. Anyway, this is the way I'd recommend insuring your phone. The coverage is extremely broad and even covers "mysterious disappearance" - which means you don't know what the heck happened, it's just gone. It's also worldwide coverage.

Is all this possibly due to a lot of misunderstanding of dates? It seems that these dates got mixed up first by BB. I think the original date, Feb 14th could have been intended for the ADD release to make the general public aware of the device. Then the 24th could have been intended for Verizons opening of preorders for the actual release date of the 28th. Looking back on how things have played out already this is very possible IMO.

You are making too much sense (no pun intended, maybe)! Stop that!

Hi guys. Been lurking for the past few days waiting to hear something good.

Just got a call from BB in King of Prussia, PA telling me that the phone is delayed and that they "haven't forgotten about me and that it's most likely coming the 28th."

Glad to help fuel the fire :P

The BB where I preordered just left me a voicemail saying that VZH just gave them word that they are pushing back the launch date. HOPEFULLY to only a week or week and a half.

Here I was, thinking that VZW didnt have a release date TO push back.

On my receipt It has a Presale BBYM SKU 1815126 listed under SERVICE AND SERVICE OPTIONS. Is that the Buy Back Plan?

I don't think so look at the 4th line from the bottom of the picture I posted. It says;

2YR BUY BACK MOBILE >$350

Ok, I have been reading you guys for a month. Thanks to Jay for all the info, and everyone else for the entertainment. Just jumping in cause I just read an article that some Best Buys are reporting the phone came in today.

HTC Thunderbolt: Is there a release conspiracy? - Charlotte Smartphones | Examiner.com

Still doesnt look good for a release tomorrow though. Maybe you guys have already seen this, if so, I apologize. I'm working so cant read every post that comes in.

Still, a good sign!
